An Appeal to Experienced Players

Sadly, it seems as if everyone who is active and experienced has left for the non-Paradox mod forum site.

Let's get things going again here for helping the new players. For those of us who may be lurking about, please get engaged or get re-engaged.

Take the time to help; for remember, many of us were often helped in the past.

Oh we're still about, but there aren't that many threads to help on, other than mod threads,

Agreed. If any new players come to ask questions, plenty will respond. However there must be new players about to ask questions. It's a testament to the state of the game I feel.

I've been a little busy of late, and my attention has been elsewhere in my free time. I agree with English Patriot, though: if people have problems, they can ask and we'll emerge from the shadows to enlighten.

I think BeeNeez is on to something. I see two possibilities:

1. No one new is buying the game, and gamers' interest in Rome/VV is drying up.

2. The game is working perfectly. It is so amazingly well documented that there is no need for an active forum. Furthermore, the forum is so well indexed that one need only search to find an answer. This is due to the fact that every conceivable question already has already been answered.

Hmmmm.... it is hard to draw the correct inference here.

Quick and to action one and all! We must alert Paradox to this amazing insight. Paradox must contribute to the global economy by stimulating the gaming industry. Paradox, I beg of you, fight the recession with a VV patch or another expansion.

I'm concerned about the wisdom of moving to another forum site as well. I can understand that it gives us a better organisation, but it does isolate the mod development from the gamer base, and makes Rome appear more dead than it really is. Personally I would much prefer a subforum to the modforum like the one other big mods have. We properly need a working mod to get such a forum though.
