How can I launch amphibious Assaults? Do I need a tech to do it? The Province allows for a landing but I cant seem to land my troops there (Crete) Maybe the type of ship?

Does the province have a beach? If I recall from HOI2 you had to take crete with a para drop.
Yes, you need a certain tech. Also, what I find easy is to set it to conduct the assault until the ship is down to 1% Organization (this works when it sometimes just doesn't let you do it, a problem I often have Island Hopping in the Pacific as the U.S.A.).
The Amphibious Assault order is given from the ship, the "This unit has no mission set", right next to Rebase and ASW. You still have to load the troops onto the ship first.
What tech in particular do you need? I'm having the same problem. I conquered Greece as Persia, and Crete rebelled. I sent an invasion force with plenty of transports, and set the mission settings as "Amphibious Assault" with the mission going on until 0% organization on both night and day. Yet they just sit there in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea.
