why is it so hard to have a successful Amphibious Assault union of Britain Kaiserreich I tried landing with nearly 30 divisions but every time I keep getting defeated
5 marines.
4 panzers
1 headquarters
20 infantry
vs

1-2 divisions(garrison)

Amphibious landings suffer from stacking penalties. If the situation is so bad that not even 9 marine divs with arty can land it, then soften them up with planes and support from ships. If everything else fails (like a nightmare scenario where you would invade Britain if every coast was defended by 100 divisions), a nuke and quick landing supported by paras should do it.

Don't stack units when performing amphibious assaults. The best units to use are Marines with Amphibious Armor brigades. The AI can't handle a stack of 5 or 7, depending on your tech level. They won't reinforce the province quickly enough and you'll break through. Shore bombardment and air support is optional.

Just to add a little more, the naval infantry techs provide you with additional amphibious assault bonuses for all of your land divisions, not just for your marines.

The best way to assault UoB on KaiserReich or UK in normal DH is to make a air assault in Bristol and then use your navy to land 20 divisions after you take the province, amphibious assaults take too much time and hardly work

Some things that always worked for me as Japan:
  1. Don't attack in stacks larger than 3.
  2. Stage diversionary attacks to draw units away from your target.
  3. Attack your main target.
  4. Your diversions may or may have not fail, send a second wave.
  5. Your main attack might have failed, send another wave there too.
With this, you will break them somewhere. Add in your standard naval or aerial bombardment, vertical envelopment or any other fancy trick and you will surely succeed.

That's the point. If you can't paradrop on a undefended port or stage diversionary attacks, preparing 3-4-5 or more waves of units is the key. As soon as the first wave is being defeated, move the transports to the beach, call back the first wave and immediately attack with the new one. This way, the defenders don't have the time to reorganise. Obviously, some ground interdiction from planes and/or naval artillery barrage helps a lot. Always cover your transports with an appropriate fleet and also interceptors if you can, because it could take long and they are sitting ducks. You should try to delay the enemy reinforcement of the beach from surrounding provinces as long as possibile, so also send planes to the provinces around your target.

Hey reading it make me a big question about paratrooper.

I read about paratrooper don't have fortress effect.

But the paratroopers and units attacking a province suffer command stack penalty?

Paratroopers suffer a stack penalty if the units attacking the province by land attack with 12 divisions commanded by a field marshall, but if you attack with 5 paratroopers and 7 infantry divs then there wont be any stack penalty.

The logic is that land forts are aimed at the front, while paratroopers land behind it. So yes, they avoid this penalty. Stacking penalty applies the same as attacking from another province, just imagine that there is a province verticaly above the province you are attacking.

To defeat UoB, I always annex Ireland first. Then I can either strat and log bomb their industry to dust and invade while they are unsupplied or just do wave attacks with marines and paras(which add another angle of attack) while pummeling their defending troops with cas and ftrs. Either way, CVs/BBs off the coast with shore bombardment orders help a lot.

I beat thr Uob by amphibious assault on Dover. 5 marine divisions to match my technical level, 3 airborne divisions and 8 tacs. Used most of my navy as a screen, but they beat the garrison there before reinforcements or the British navy arrived.

There is a easier way, just produce 45 transports, load 45 divisions in it, then use one transport division and one paratrooper div and take Bristol, the city have a port but it is usually ungarrisioned, then you can move your entire army there

If the enemy sees that 45 stack before you land the units you're done for.

I usually use a circular operation where i send attacks in more beaches at the same time and then send a part of the attack in port to get organized and strength back while sending fresh troops to the attack.
And if is necessary i send paratroops behind enemy lines to support my invasion and i supply them with air transports.
