I even do not see the enemy army's quantity on war screen or diplomatic screen. (during wartime and at peace both)

Where may I find it anymore? I need to predict my potential enemy's strength.
Could someone help please?

I belive you have to use the new "spy on country" character interaction to be able to see the strenght of your enemy for a limited time.
But you first have to unlock it via the tech tree (orotary right tree maybe? I think you can find it there)
(Nevertheless I have never done this myself to this point.)

You can still make an informed decision, as you can see the number of pops in any country.

If you hover over the pops of an enemy in the pop tab of a province you can see if that culture has the -30% unintegrated culture happiness to judge how many integrated cultures they have and then judge how many pops in total they have to levy from.

So if I start as Antigonids and study Egyptian provinces I can see Macedonian and Bohaeric cultures don't have that malus, and they're pops combined make up approx 900 of their roughly 1700 pops. So they can levy whatever % of 900 pops, and I can get a rough estimate from that.

I think that entire process is more enjoyable than click on the ledger to see '50 cohorts' and actually helps you get engaged with the system. Just study your enemy

Edit: plus that gives room for you to miscalculate as they may be able to levy 10% of those 90 pops or only 2-5%. So when thinking about attacking you'll be thinking they have between 23 and 90 cohorts

You gotta eyeball it now, i get it's more annoying but i really like the change. Having perfect information made the game more easy than it should have been.

No :)

That feature got removed because certain people on this forum think informed decision making is unfun.

Yes, I'm a tad salty.

This is probably why they added espionage to the game, but I haven't really played around with it. Whenever I send someone to spy on another country, that character is instantly caught which is quite the bummer.

Choose characters with high charisma. I get successful nearly all the time.
Have you found any other benefits from espionage? Like tech boosts? I think I saw something like that once in a stream (maybe Lambert's?). Basically, the info's important, but I might be more inclined to invest one of my precious innovations in it if it offered other possibilities.

There are random events that allow your spy to attempt special mission based on their other stats. So far the events that I have seen are:

1) Military Sabotage: If successful reduces the target country's moral and supply limit (I think?). Success chance is based on the spy's martial

2) Research Espionage: Gives bonus research progress. Success chance is based on the spy's civic stat.

There may be more, but these are the ones I found. Also, I suspect they may be linked to the spy's traits or something similar, because I either get no events at all or I get spammed with the same event multiple times in quick succession.

Uh yeah very dumb change. Completely unnecessary. It seems like the game doesn't even give you an estimate of the enemy's strength which is extremely goofy.

Besides espionage, if I'm worried about the size of my enemy's army I check the happiness of his pops, it will tell you how many they have integrated and which ones based on their happiness penalties. Big integrated cultures malus means lots of integrated cultures means big army.

To those of you who so staunchly believe taking information away from the player is a good thing - would you at least be ok with a toggleable option for cohort information and for the ledger? If you want to play with less information, go nuts. Personally, I prefer being able to make decisions instead of wildly guessing or trying to figure out all of the pops that Mauryas have integrated, followed by the number of said pops, followed by meager attempts to figure out how many are not slaves/tribesman, followed by slowly inputting that into a spreadsheet. That's just extra work which I did not have to do in the last patch.
