I embargo no one who poses no hazard to my merchants. If you wish to trade, than we can discuss terms amicably. If you don't want to, theres no need to tell me. Sultan, considering that I do not trade in your CoT's at the moment, do what you wish.

However, this policy may be refined in the future, but considering that everyone is trading in andalusia except the german nations and the Ottoman Empire, I think that it will stay.

Also, Margrave, if people wish to embargo me, they can go right ahead, as most of my income is in infrastructure.

Sweden if you do not like my policies, it would be preferred if you not trade in my centers.

OOC: BTW, if you all disagree with this, this is what being mercantilist is for. Considering that I control the largest CoT in europe, you all want a piece of it, but that means my traders get killed...

Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spanish King:

All Countries who wish to trade in our great centers of Andalusia, Malacca, and Tahiti, will pay a sum of 500D every 20 years. If this sum isn't paid, then the infractor shall recieve an embargo until it is. Also, note that we have a very low tolerance for nations' agressive merchants who compete our merchants out.

Signed,

Charlie 1.

PS. Anyone in our alliance is exempt from this policy.

Henry I is amused about the mercantilist policy of Spain.
Is Carlos I trying to get DOWed more times than the Margrave had??
We hope that the Spanish trading School teaches traders how to fight as the Man Power in the Iberian peninsula is pitfull.

If you want to expel our traders, you should embargo then. In any case, if Spain wants to pursue such policies, it is their choice. We certainly had learned some things about Spain today.

OOC: That decision can be mercantilist, that does not means that other countries will not react according to their best interests.

Well, the Spanish kingdom is very harsh to merchants that lose positions we are told. (And in this way the 'Black Legend' about Spain was born)

* We would like to suggest that Berlin, Paris, and Madrid begin negotiations. While we have yet to hear from the french, The Margrave is interested in ending this war, and several options have ben presented. We waite input from our Frankish ally

I hope that the omission of us had been a simple mistake from His Excelency the Margrave or his envoys... since London is also open to negotiations, and perhaps you can extend about the options you might have for ending this war....

Well, it actually wasnt a mistake. Both France and BB are at war to retrieve provinces which we claim, and are held by Spain. We have no claims on England, and it was not us who attacked England, you involved yourself voluntarily. Spain and BB have also already held negotiations and feel we are on the brink of an agreement, and the only reason we would hold a *discussion* is to obtain french confirmation. English involvement is welcome since you are a spanish ally, but not necessary - as the more nations that involved in discussions, the more complicated things can get - the Margrave would just assume avoid any unnecessary complications.

So, as I said, there is nothing to negotiate with London (as far as Berlin is concerned), as you are in this war to assist the Spanish, so any peace signed between Spain and Berlin would also extend to London.

But, no, we had not intended to offend you :) , but our statements in the previous post's content were intended.

*We do not speak for the french however, and any negotiations that may be necessary between your 2 nations

we consider ourselfs as more than an assistance.. so a "mere extension" of the peace agreements is not acceptable...

Correcty me if Im wrong (as the english queen has already taken offense when that was not our intent), but you joined the spanish alliance after she was already at war with the French and Germans. Now there is nothing wrong with that, but neither of us declared war on London - if anything it was London who acted against us.

Now, if you are insulted with your lack of involvement, that is not berlin's fault, as we have no reason to negotiate with you (not out of disrespect, but because there is nothing to negotiate - we desire no provinces from the english crown).

As for negotiating between our kingdoms: Spain has already sent a proposal, and france and Brandenburg are talking it over as I write this. BB had no reason to discuss peace with england because england, while at war with berlin, hasn't actually taken action against us - so there is nothing to settle. As far as peace suggests, the war was won by fra/BB, so england should actually be happy the treaty mentioned nothing of london :p

Even though England had reached an understanding related the war we are into... and knowing that Madrid is agreeing peace terms where they accept the complete defeat...

we sincerely express that London won't sign any such peace agreement...

So basically, England understands that she joined the war to assist Spain. Now that Spain is looking to come to a peace treaty England has decided it will still continue the war, even though Spain is no longer a participant?

Is my assessment correct?

England has decided to not continue the war but only under the terms that our country can find correct and according to how the war has evolved so far...

well, even though we have reached an understanding, we are not still sure about why the Margrave still demotes the involvement of England into this war... since we are not asking who is "assisting" who of you, France and Brandenburg... we are treating you as contrincants of the same level, perhaps there are some characteristics that can lead us to think that one might be "less enemy" than the other.. but we are considering you two as opponents...

so, as long as in the discussions of the peace agreements are not involving England... sadly, we are still at war...

1. We are not attempting to demote you. :)

2. Since proposals have already been sent to the leader of your alliance, and our alliance doesn't seem to have anything to negotiate with England, then maybe the English King should send us a PM with what he would like to negotiate, as you seem to have something to say, yet you have yet to open any dialogu with France or BB regarding a treaty.

3. In regards to your comment on "assisting": BB and france both have goals in this war, we are working together to take control of the lands we claim from Spain. Because we are the offenders, we have obviously tried to come to an agreement with Spain. Now, England joined the war after it had already been ensuing - so we either are assuming you joined to defend Spain, or you joined because you desire french territory (which inadvertantly makes you the offender, thus you should be approaching us with your proposals).

4. As Spain is the leader of the alliance, and they have sent us a proposal which included no mention of England then maybe, rather than targeting our alliance for your exclusion, maybe you should once again look to Madrid :)
