The Kingdom of France until 1553

The diplomatic crisis with the austrian branch of the House of the Habsburgs was, at the last moment, averted by the intervention of England. The treaty of London was signed with the archduke, and the satus quo was accepted by both realms by the time being. Besides, a very interesting deal regarding Italy was signed in the Thames. So, France took Emilia, Firenze (where a new refinery was built to show the italians the advantages of french rule) and Siena.

Our explorers reached some strange and quite fabled lands in India and near Malacca. China has still not being reached, but french sailors are confident in their abilities to reach that kingdom. The necessary ports were founded and developed to help our explorers. But it is believed that a more aggressive policy will be decided in Paris.

The knowledge of trade that the extensive dealings with wine brings to french merchants had made them one of the most advanced in the world. They are (together with Spain, who we copied the practice) able to expel merchants of our trade centers. Our expulsion from Spanish trade centers by the regent don AI teached France how to do that.

The religious peace in France was broke when in several provinces (specially in rich wine ones) the populace decided to abandon their old faith and embrace some strange new teachings. The king and court of France, worried about the supply of wine, had not decided stil what to do about it.

OT. I choose the -3 BB prize.

Fast boy! :p

Poland until 1553

THis is a dark era for our glorious Kingdom. We have fought RUssia twice, once to keep them from taking Ottoman territory and growing even stronger, and also once when they invaded our territory to take memel. They have also declared to make us their vassal and this can not be tolerated.

We ask for the rest of Europe to form a coalition and help to stop the juggernaut that is known as RUssia. We must take them now, before they get any stronger, and then threaten the soveriengty of Europe.

A small communication to whoever could concern:

The noble and ancient kingdom of France thinks wise to say the following regarding our colonial claims:

France regards as her own the territory from Leone to Ivoria, and their hinterland (with exception of the territory already divided by treaty with England).
France regards as her own the territory of the ruler of Malacca and Southern India.
France regards as her own the lands of Zimbabwe (only exception the current portuguese colony in the area).
Any trespassing by other country on the territories described above will be regarded as casus belli.

The french crown reserves his right to colonize other lands besides the already mentiones, but from this year on we regard any colonial intention in the territories already described as a direct attack on the dignity of the french crown and nation.

Francois I
King of the French.

We in Austria acknowledges the worry of our neighbour, the Polish King, and we ask the powerful Tzar of all Russias to stop his hostile attitude. This won't carry anything good for the prosperity of the countries, especially in the East of Europe, where war have always been the cause of the destruction of the economy.

Vienna invites the mentioned to a visit and a reunion in our Capital, to solve this touchy issue. We urge the Russian Ruler to reconsider his position towards Poland, otherwise actions must be taken by Austria.

On the step of the French King, England has some comments:

- England will respect those lands claimed by France, honoring its pact with France as long as France respect the same pact regarding asia:

1) The Java island and all small indonesian islands are under English sphere;

2) The Philipines and Taiwan are under English sphere

3) the Sub-Continent of Australia and its neighboors are under English control

4) The south part of China (Cantonese) is English sphere

5) Other clauses must be respected of the Calais' Treaty that are, by now, secret.

Signed by His Majesty, the King of England, Edward VI.

1538 - 1553 - Unstability in England!!

In the past years England continued its gradual expansion into West Africa and North America. The first amount of gold, from the province of Buré was received in London with great joy. Also the colonization of a rich province, called Timbuktu, was started with the promises of being the richest colony of the Crown.

Also explorers are going south to reach new lands for England to colonize.

In military, England tried to protect his friend, Poland, from Russia’s constant attack and barbarian expansion, but England still can’t face Russia alone and considering that none European leaders moved a bone to counter the Orthodox invasion into Central Europe, England was forced to white peace the Czar.

Many crises happened in England in these years. The once Catholic nation, accept Luther’s faith and turned Protestant. Then it back to Catholic, then back to Protestantism and finally England accept the Reformation as her State Religion. This, definitely lead a not stable country with only the hope to be one in the near future.

England still is poor. But there is a light in the end of the tunnel.

The Ottoman Empire: 1535 - 1553

1535 - 1553

In the middle of the 16th century, the Ottoman Empire had significantly mixed fortunes. The Shiite nations had been defeated and renounced their splinter sect of Muhammad's faith. Nearby Sunni nations maintained their alliance and diplomatic ties were slowly improving. However, the Russian hunger for land extended south and the old land of Georgia was torn from the Empire. An extended truce was signed between the two nations, but the turkish people saw uncertainty and instability in their government.

Despite the offers of brave men who would explore new lands, the Sultan only extended his knowledge of Africa by a small amount. Constantly forced to focus on the wars with Persia, the economy suffered. Some success was had in negotiating a border with Austria, and Mimar Sinan's Great Constructions brought prosperity to the captial, but on the whole, the Muslim empire was falling behind nearly all of the major european powers.

In addition, areas vital to the prosperity and defense of nation were now within striking range of the Russian troops. Having experienced the Russian philosophy of "might makes right" more than once, the Sultan hoped to mold his country into a force that could withstand another attack. The hard part would be doing so without sacrificing the economic and religious reforms that were already underway.

There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his Prophet.

Austria
1535 - 1553
The Austro-Hungarian Community

The time has passed quietly for the territories ruled by the Honorable Viceroy Ferdinand, who have brought peace and prosperity as he promised when he ascended this high and important responsability appointed by his brother, Karl V.

Ferdinand_I_1503-1564.jpg

Viceroy Ferdinand of Habsburg, have ruled the destiny of Austria with positive results since 1518.

One of the main tasks for our Viceroy in these years was to ensure the succesion of the Hungarian crown to the Hasburgian family. This state that has been into the sphere of influence since last century, have also been "invaded" by foreign noblemen that has tried to reach complete power after King Louis Jagellón died in battle against Low Danube rebeles in the Mohacs battle.

The crown then passed in 1526 to Jan Zápolya, a respectable noblemen that gained the entire noble council by his firm attitude against rebels and his graciousity for their subjects. But a group inside the noble council noticed the elected King was getting more ill after 1535, and decided to seize power using the electoral via. To achieve this, these "noblemen" started to put pressure to the rest of noblemen, at times they pillage and burn some villages to impose their point of view.

This was noted by the Viceroy, and started to pay more attention to the Hungarian situation, where these new rebels were getting more powerful. Especially after King Zápolya asked him for help and confess to him that he wanted to cede the crown of Hungary to the Habsburgian dinasty. Solution approved by most of the nobles, particularly the magyar side, which has a special relation with Austria and its rulers.

The Communication of the Hungarian Diet of the event of 1540

In a Diet gathered in July 1539 in Buda, the majority of the Nobility accepted and supported the decision of King Zápolya and decided to approved the election of Ferdinand of Habsburg prior to the death of the King. Sad event happened in August of next year. The troops of the Viceroy rapidly joined the Hungarian to crush the revolt of the Low Danube nobles. These rebels after being defeated in Romania moved to the Carpathian mountains and found a somewhat safe refuge there. But the powerful White Helmets went there and captured the leaders of the rebelion. Despite the situaton calmed, a contingent of 15k strong troops established command there to quell any further attempts to disrupt the peace.

Scenario where it was signed the London Treaty between the King of France and the Viceroy of Austria.

In the eve of the year of 1535, the gracious King of England invited the rulers of France and Austria to a series of conversation in regard of reduce the tension between the two latter countries.

Happily, it was reached an agreement after several weeks of negotiations. The treaty included a vast number of issued concerning not only both countries but the stability and the prosperity of Europe. Tax and Trade tariffs agreements were signed along with political ones.

In the political side, the main point of the Treaty was a signed and accorded division of the sphere of influences in Italy. This was well received by the italians subjects who grew worried about the tense situation between the two countries. Now it can be felt the harmony in the air.

3ScreenSave13.jpg

Including this, was solved the horrible situation that the Holy Pope has lived in these years; Romagnian nobles tried to extend their dominions on behalf of the territories own by the Pope himself. Rapidly the Pope asked and received the help of the Viceroy who appointed General Potthof to this task and he resulted a brilliant leader who quickly quell the situation. Then the Viceroy and the Pope agreed a profitable solution for the dominions of the Romagnian Noblemen.

3ScreenSave12.jpg
3ScreenSave14.jpg

In the decade of 1540's, the Church Administration had been working impetuosly to impede the propagation of the Protestant faith between the Habsburgian subjects. The Kingdom of Bohemia was included in this task, and soon have brought happy results. Most of the Bohemian territory has now accepted the true faith happily.

The Viceroy has brought a plan and has been working on it for a lot of years, but now the situation can be different, especially after noticing the aggravating state of the Archduke's health. Only time will tell us the path that Austria must follow to ensure its prosperity.
