The Austro-Hungarian Community
The time has passed quietly for the territories ruled by the Honorable Viceroy Ferdinand, who have brought peace and prosperity as he promised when he ascended this high and important responsability appointed by his brother, Karl V.
Viceroy Ferdinand of Habsburg, have ruled the destiny of Austria with positive results since 1518.
One of the main tasks for our Viceroy in these years was to ensure the succesion of the Hungarian crown to the Hasburgian family. This state that has been into the sphere of influence since last century, have also been "invaded" by foreign noblemen that has tried to reach complete power after King Louis Jagellón died in battle against Low Danube rebeles in the Mohacs battle.
The crown then passed in 1526 to Jan Zápolya, a respectable noblemen that gained the entire noble council by his firm attitude against rebels and his graciousity for their subjects. But a group inside the noble council noticed the elected King was getting more ill after 1535, and decided to seize power using the electoral via. To achieve this, these "noblemen" started to put pressure to the rest of noblemen, at times they pillage and burn some villages to impose their point of view.
This was noted by the Viceroy, and started to pay more attention to the Hungarian situation, where these new rebels were getting more powerful. Especially after King Zápolya asked him for help and confess to him that he wanted to cede the crown of Hungary to the Habsburgian dinasty. Solution approved by most of the nobles, particularly the magyar side, which has a special relation with Austria and its rulers.
The Communication of the Hungarian Diet of the event of 1540
In a Diet gathered in July 1539 in Buda, the majority of the Nobility accepted and supported the decision of King Zápolya and decided to approved the election of Ferdinand of Habsburg prior to the death of the King. Sad event happened in August of next year. The troops of the Viceroy rapidly joined the Hungarian to crush the revolt of the Low Danube nobles. These rebels after being defeated in Romania moved to the Carpathian mountains and found a somewhat safe refuge there. But the powerful White Helmets went there and captured the leaders of the rebelion. Despite the situaton calmed, a contingent of 15k strong troops established command there to quell any further attempts to disrupt the peace.
Scenario where it was signed the London Treaty between the King of France and the Viceroy of Austria.
In the eve of the year of 1535, the gracious King of England invited the rulers of France and Austria to a series of conversation in regard of reduce the tension between the two latter countries.
Happily, it was reached an agreement after several weeks of negotiations. The treaty included a vast number of issued concerning not only both countries but the stability and the prosperity of Europe. Tax and Trade tariffs agreements were signed along with political ones.
In the political side, the main point of the Treaty was a signed and accorded division of the sphere of influences in Italy. This was well received by the italians subjects who grew worried about the tense situation between the two countries. Now it can be felt the harmony in the air.
Including this, was solved the horrible situation that the Holy Pope has lived in these years; Romagnian nobles tried to extend their dominions on behalf of the territories own by the Pope himself. Rapidly the Pope asked and received the help of the Viceroy who appointed General Potthof to this task and he resulted a brilliant leader who quickly quell the situation. Then the Viceroy and the Pope agreed a profitable solution for the dominions of the Romagnian Noblemen.
In the decade of 1540's, the Church Administration had been working impetuosly to impede the propagation of the Protestant faith between the Habsburgian subjects. The Kingdom of Bohemia was included in this task, and soon have brought happy results. Most of the Bohemian territory has now accepted the true faith happily.
The Viceroy has brought a plan and has been working on it for a lot of years, but now the situation can be different, especially after noticing the aggravating state of the Archduke's health. Only time will tell us the path that Austria must follow to ensure its prosperity.
