Is there any way to trigger the American Revolution earlier than 1750? I don't mind using the console and I know about 'event 1021', but that only gives cores on certain provinces. My aim is to play a game with USA from as early as possible. Playing DW 5.2 - Thanks!

Well, most of the time you can 1) start up the English/British in any date before the revolution in which they hold land in America, 2) input the cores via the cheat, 3) release the USA as a vassal and 4) then release the vassal, creating an independent.

The only problem with this approach -- indeed with any approach regarding the USA -- is that the designated culture of the USA is "american" and that culture only replaces "english" in 1764, representing the growth of national identity before the revolution. You can't release a country when the provinces and the designated culture don't match. Perhaps you could fix this by changing USA's culture from "american" to "english" in the file usa - united states, but i haven't tested it.

Sort of a rough approach, but it is what springs to mind.

Also, if you don't mind getting your hands dirty, there is also the notepad-editing of your save file, but that's for the truly desperate.

I generally just accept that the USA's time is more Vic2 than EUIII and play them there. Though I do admit its fun seeing what sort of alt-USA's spring up from the ashes of AI colonial mismanagement. My latest and best one was a Portuguese primary cultured Republican Dictatorship (they revolted before the Portugese had researched the Gov tech for Constitutional Republic, so they started as Administrative Republic and switched to Republican Dictatorship as soon as they were at peace). All Hail the Lord Protector of the Americas!
