omg this is like the 5th thread I have seen about this, never actually tested it myself but I'm told a rebelling 13 colonies does get American Dream events also you can just play from the American Revolution start date where it was never broken

Not that it matters much as Colonies still almost never rebel

I've yet to see a colonial nation rebel. I even played a game where Portugal were pushed out of the Europe. Their capital was in Madagascar and they only had few and scattered provinces left. On the other hand, they had two massive colonial nations in South America, only Spain had parts of the norhern parts of Southern America. Still, they never ever rebelled, which really confused me, because they would certainly be able to beat that shadow of the nation that Portugal once were.

Oh come on. I think it should be tied to the tag not events, but ok so if I play as Thirteen Colonies and win independence war DLC will fire? Because on steam review page there are two negative reviews from October that say it doesn't work.

Colonial nations are way to easy to manage atm.

Only if you don't count the idiotic micro hell of helping them with their rebels.

CNs are the most micro-intensive feature in the game. You have no way of automating rebel suppression there and the AI is so bad at it that it will get provinces occupied at sub-100% OE even when it has enough units to win. As a bonus, CNs will also freeze up in terms of converting religions (even in situations where a tag switch clearly shows they can easily convert every province in 30 months or less) and if rebels occupy a province they've not yet cored, they won't core it even though they have the ADM to do so in some cases.

I get that you mean wrt them rebelling, but CNs are anything BUT easy to manage from a micro standpoint. They're the worst micro hell in the game. At least you can auto-hunt your own rebels, even if the game sucks at it and will let a stack march across Asia "hunting" a stack that was killed months ago.......................

By the way, I'm not amused that USA gets cores on Aztec, Iroquois, and other NA natives in their original culture. Shouldn't there be a flag preventing that if the culture isn't European?

Just allowing autonomous suppression of rebels in vassal countries would go a long way towards making things more bearable.

Also, please make it so that annexing natives doesn't give huge OE penalties to you or your CNs that spawn multiple rebel stacks much bigger and stronger then the whole of the old native nation's military might.
