o), but still I guess it could a sort of attraction to the buyers, to play ur country in the game, historical struggle etc. 
When I played the scenario, I defeated the British and took over much of Canada before 1780(!). I also invaded Newfoundland, but then the British took it back.

i agree, our war of independance is hard to simulate. I also agree that the scenario if it is to begin in 1773 should exist with the US as vassals of england then having the choice to split away in a pop up in 1776. All the conflicts before (bunker hill, boston) should be decided in pop up boxes. The after the DOI, all hell can break loose.
