I bought most of the expansions of EU4, I think, except Mare Nostrum. Allthough I am not playing it much. Prefer HOI3. But will of course buy Mare Nostrum next time I decide to play EU4.
Anyhow, I have no problem with Queen Elizabeth, Catherine the Great etc. They are historical. Amelia Earhart as some kind of minister or adviser is not. We live in 2016 - times where a bit different in the 16th century with regards to women rights. Time where also different in 1940s.
Someone mentioned her as a propaganda tool, national spirit or what ever, not so sure what they are yet. But yeah, she could be used as some kind of propaganda tool - calling women into the working force, perhaps give a slight bonus to factories for a while. Or boosting number recruiting time perhaps, getting more people to join the war.
A cold war mod/game however, would be totally off, if not using the powerful women of that period. I just don't think Amelia Earhart is in any way, not even remotely, close to becoming a minister, leader or advisor of any sorts.
From 1936 to 1947 there where not that many women in power or political leaders at all, however, some where, they should be in the game. Frances Perkins was in Roosevelts cabinet for instance. She had real power, real influence. Amalia Earhart was popular, but no politician, she would probably be going back to working on her fashion brand. As a "propaganda tool" for recruiting both soldiers and female laborers, I guess, something like that is plausible. But becoming a minister/leader or god forbid, a military leader, is not plausible at all.
