So,
The Amazons are a brutal race of warrior women who biologically engineered themselves as well as savage alien races to better crush their foes. A parallel has been drawn between them and elves. (I assume very dark, evil elves)

so, a presumably sexualised race of evil women?
AoW3 went well without avoiding the for 12 year old boys only no girls allowedness of some of the AoW2 designs.
And this amazons seems both, a really bad idea and also just, generic bad pulp sci fi unoriginal?

Is there any information to spire confidence or atleast not inspire dread?

Uh, well, if nothing else there's the quality of Triumph's previous games to go on?

There's probably more good arguments but it's really early here and I'd rather still be in bed.

They are visually inspired on female MMA fighters, and then probably a bit more muscular. That's far from just "sexy woman". Also, for example AoW original had full nudity for the lady of pain ( http://aow.heavengames.com/units/unitstats_dark_elf_ts.shtml#Lady-of-Pain ). It's only gotten less over the years, to follow the industry standard and what they can get away with, instead of what the fanbase likes. Also, they're scientifically strong, and mostly with bio-engineering.

It's never been stated that they're evil. Since AoW3, no race is inherently evil or good. And it's going to stay that way. Whoever you quoted, that "dark evil elves" bit was his own interpretation. I was at the con talking to the devs and didn't get that impression at all.

- first of all, presumably, by you. Secondly, like its something bad.

AoW3 went well without avoiding the for 12 year old boys only no girls allowedness of some of the AoW2 designs.
- something in AoW 2 was scaring off older women? My mother and her coworkers, who played it on LAN did not noticed that back in the day...

And this amazons seems both, a really bad idea and also just, generic bad pulp sci fi unoriginal?
- on contrary, it is a great unorigian idea that dates back to original ancient greek myths!

Is there any information to spire confidence or atleast not inspire dread?
- im now even more confident in this game, thanks to you!

Also, for example AoW original had full nudity for the lady of pain ( http://aow.heavengames.com/units/unitstats_dark_elf_ts.shtml#Lady-of-Pain ).
- visually AoW1-2 borrowed heavily from warhammer FB and DnD, so they are not the only ones to "blame".

- welp, if they reuse alignment system from AoW3 some of the "amazons" could be "evil", also as of now we know nothing about classes or game story so its all up in the air. Also even thou racial alignment was thrown out of the window in AoW3, id say that some of racial and class descriptions and abilities were more weighted towards "evil" than other. So who knows. It can swing both ways, or people like OP could even scare devs in submission...

Does not sound very much off from old dark elf versions.. pain ladies and succubusses and whatnot.
Oh and you choose yourself whether you will be good or evil.

Same as with the tyrannid-zerg-bugs.

So far, doesn't sound like "sexy" is going to have any gameplay-related impact whatsoever. Also, a google image search for "MMA women" basically gives you the aesthetic they're going for.

evidently abilities will be greatly diversified as per race. Or so was stated by a very exited designer :p
If familliar with the way unit abilities function in the aow series.
