We all know that Hitler didn't drink alcohol, also we all know that during war time he slept just 4-5 hours with the help of sedants (everynight), but what few people know, is thta during a couple of weeks he said that was fed up of the sedants and secretly before going to sleep drank 2 mugs of beer, so he would get sleepy, but soon he stop it doing it because he feared of overwheight.

Also, Hitler's only private possesion were his dog Blondy, his boots and uniform. The rest was NSDAP possesion!

I've read that D-Day was completely unnecessary. Apparently a group named Schwarze Kapelle (Black Orchestra), which included high ranking or previously ranking Germans such as Wilhelm Canaris, Rommel, and Rundstedt, wanted the allies to announce their support of their group and once they did Rommel would have been there to greet Eisenhower on the beaches of Normandy and surrender the forces under his command. However the allies were completely set upon that fact that they would do an amphibious invasion and eventually utterly destroy Germany and thus ignored the group's pleas. Apparently Churchill, some years after the war, was the first western leader to say that he regretted that the allies did not support the Schwarze Kapelle.

they never decided to invest in machine guns. The only ones they had were given to special forces and never saw any major use. Basically in hoi2 sense they only got 1939 inf by the end of war, light armor, and terrible tactics.

Actually the Germans made considerable use of foreign manpower. For instance, by the end of the war the Waffen S.S. was only 40% german. In fact the last group of Waffen S.S. soldiers holding the Reichstag were French!

There's some irony for you.
Yes, and I heard about Arabian Waffen SS divisions and there were 2 Hungarian Waffen SS divisions (Hunyadi and Hungaria), too. But that was in the very last times, in the last years of the war (1944-1945), when Germans didn't have any other choice, just to conscript soldiers from other nations. And these weren't considered as the "original", blue eyed German soldiers.
Anyway, there were other nations fighting on the side of the Germans, but I'm not sure about these Chinese etc. soldiers.
Sorry I just saw no discussion about SS divs. I won't continue.

I read a long time ago that in Filipinas the biggest foreign community was the Spanish one and when the Japanese occupied it they made a lot of agression against the Spanish citizens who lived there. They were the most punished foreign community in the Filipines.

The punishes were so strong that the Spanish government leaded by Franco started to think about joining allies (i think that i'm talking about 1944) in their fight against Japan.

Finally they (of course) didn't.

Ah about the Japanese failure?
IMO the bigest failure that the Japanese made was not research tanks and use tactics that cost a lot of lives, yes, the kamikaze attacks, in Iwo Jima they didn't use it and they made a lot of more casualties on the marines.

I think the biggest failure of Japan was to get stuck in a multiple front-war in Burma, Pacific China and the numerous beachheads in China. Majority of Chinese forces were in China if I recall correctly (?)

as u can all see the numerical superiority of the americans wasnt such a decisive factor. the japanese couldnt fight with their ships, with their infantry, and with their planes

As all can see you have no references what so ever to all your points. Even if some are true, they are not interesting.
Just after Pearl Harbour, the japanese navy was numerically clearly superior to the US Pacific fleet.

But... Look at production capability for those countries... Look at naturall resources... Look at how vulnerable the japanese empire was; they had to carry vital resources over vast oceans. This is the big picture IMO.

The failure in arranging, protecting and mantaining all those convoys (to feed their industry) was the key detail in the japanese defeat IMO, but, still a detail.

Besides, I can´t see what´s so frightfully funny in your examples. All those LOL:s are just... Irritating.

But I think what he means is that the Japanese didn't invest in sub-machineguns

the LOL remarks are horrible imo. He is making fun of the japanese soldiers who died during the US invasions. He makes them appear stupid. You can always make fun of people who didn't win the war, the victor is always right. This seems wrong, the Japanese were people, and not monsters of any kind. THis is like saying all germans were nazis. This hurts my feelings. This would hurt my grandpa who fought in Russia.

Ah well, OT. Personally i love the Kiska invasion. This is funny, while it is said as well, because of the friendly fire. Are there any ratios given anywhere how many men were killed by FF?

He later apoligised for them, but it seems he wasn't serious about it that time
