i've got a couple of issues
1. why do the barbarians only attack me and skip over other countries. I'm getting attacked at least at a 10 to1 clip over any other country. I watch them go right through another country to come to me
2. I got a 80+(out of 36) bad boy rating and haven't attacked anyone in at like 15 years How do i get this to start to go back down
3. everyone in the world dow's me when i have absolutely nothing to do with them. It's gettin pretty lame since i have been at war (with somebody) for something like 30 years in a row. I refuse t give them any money and constantly ask for white peace and get nothing. Lame. There's 19 countries left and i have been at war with like 8 at one time before (holdin my own as rome)
4. theres nothing i can do to not be at war. i have no choice but to be at war since i will not give money to countries on the other side of the map also LAME since there's no way these people would know whats going on outside their part of the world
5. why do my people revolt if i am kickin ass and they have no worries about their province being attacked. LAME.
6. seems like other countries dont take a hit for dow me or their people dont revolt when long wars go on when i put the intruders in jail is that cause for CB? cause i dont cut any heads

I feel better now
Any advice would be much appreciated

Sigh...

1) Barbarian attack provinces with high civilization values and will target these provinces even if ones with lower civ values are nearer.

2) Not sure how you can lower badboy to be honest, but it does fall by it's self

3) They are declaring war on you because your badboy is ridiculously high. I believe 80+ you be somewhat akin to Nazi Germany

4)When it comes to peace you either have to pay off your enemies or actually fight them to the point where they would accept your desired terms.

5) Your people revolt because your always at war. I imagine that would be pretty obvious.

6) You don't get CB's from killing the "intruders".

...and on a more personal note; "Know" is not spelt "No" and capitalization is your friend.

You're, means you are. It is not the same as "your".
You're tall = you are a tall human
Your tall = nothing, unless you want to finish the sentence with "your tall tree" which means he is talking about a tall tree you own.

BTW, I have never even been to Scotland.

What did you do ?!

Did you annex all of Gaul and greece in a row ?!

I can tell you one thing, it will take a maximum of ~150 years to back down to zero...

If you dont do nasty things meanwhile...

lol

ummm maybe a little bit is 80+ too high lol
not sure if question 6 is right
if you capture someone and then cut their head off that gives a CB for them right? if i just throw them in jail it doesnt give them a CB right?

A suggestion: don't bother trying to correct poor grammar/spelling.

1. Nobody like to be corrected in front of a 'crowd' (and a public forum is a crowd in a sense).

2. Nobody will thank you for it.

3. Most people have not been taught correctly - there seems to be a general adoption of "ignorance is bliss" and that 'correct' spelling, punctuation and grammar are no longer required - so, in many cases, a person's ignorance is not all of their own making.

4. Many users do not use English as their first languages (mind you, you'll often find the worst 'offenders' are those who DO have English as their first language, as they are not taught grammar etc. whereas many other students, particularly those of European countries, DO get taught in their native tongues and translate it to English).

5. If you'd like an amusing book on the subject, try "Eats, shoots and leaves" (the title is derived from a joke.....a panda sits down in a restaurant, has dinner and puts money on the table. It then stands, draws a pistol and fires a shot into the roof. The manager rushes over and asks "WHY??". The panda tosses a copy of a wildlife brochure on the table with the entry for 'giant panda' circled. The description reads, in part, "Eats, shoots and leaves")

In a game as rome I had around 40bb points at once. I was fighting macedonia and they had civ war, when I occupied all the macedonians provinces (about 10) to get 100% score I suddenly got all of them and the macedonia country has been erased from the game automatically without any peace deal.

I think this reproduced some kind of genocide action.

Throwing people in jail gives a CB too. It's rather silly, you can either let the AI go espionage crazy and not respond or give everyone CBs.

I always thought the rule was that if you correct other people, you can expect to have your own post pulled apart :).

The trick to managing your badboy is to not annex too many one-province minors early in the game. Force them to pay tribute to you instead. Later in the game when you are much stronger there comes a point where you are ready to ignore badboy because you can handle everyone declaring war on you. Once you reach that point you can annex to your heart's content.

Correcting other peoples' spelling or grammar in this kind of situation is
basically a kind of one-upmanship. It can also be unpleasant and disruptive.

Everyone makes typos, talks colloquially and posts in a rush. Some people are conversing in a second or third language -and half of the rest are using a different variant of English to the one you're used to. Some people are dyslexic.

Correcting someone else's English usage doesn't make them look bad or you look cool. It makes you look like an idiot.

hey steeltrap - first, please don't lecture me and, second i only commented on HIS grammar because (as my post shows ala HIS quote) he first took a stab at martindb9. SJG understood what i was getting at so maybe ask him for a clue.

Sorry you took it that way....wasn't intended as a 'lecture' at all, and I fully appreciated that you were pointing out the so-called 'correction' contained its own errors, thus making it a prime target.

I was simply commenting on the general futility of such exercises, and not at all meaning to come across as censorious.

Cheers
