Im Very Confused. There is an event for Mexico regarding a governor in Alta California threatening to seceded or something. I wanted to see how playing as California would be since Texas is quite enjoyable. SO I start as Mexico and go with crush the revolt when the event fires.

I load up the country and theres a few things that are strange.

-Its a protestant country yet no Protestants live there.
-Main cultures are Dixie and Yankee yet no Dixies or Yankees live there.
-It uses the Bear Flag as its flag which seems weird sine the Bear Flag revolt is a coupe f Decades later.
-Its Infantry Divisions are Yankee culture which again doesnt make sense
-only 48,000 people is this accurate for the time?
-Basically no events and no capacity to do much Mexico crushed me and took half my provinces a short while after I played.
-The capital is in Eureka in the very north? Wouldn't it make sense to be in San Fransisco or Los Angeles? Population is higher and primary culture is Mexican rather then some Native American one.

Idk what happened maybe they where basing it off the Bear Flag Republic much later and made a mistake. Maybe they never adjusted it after they changed the pops in the area cause in Vanilla there are Yankee pops there but not in VIP. Idk but anyway this can be fixed in a next update to make California a decent country to play?

I wouldn't even use California Republic cause the Event makes it sound like the local governor was a despot.

The state religion/cultures are not determined by the people living there. It's because the Californian republic was historically made from these people. We can't check for those POPs being present for event chains, so we just have to presume.

That's the most obvious flag to use as it was historical just a bit later.

Accepted culture again.

Likely for to native Indians, Mexicans, etc... yes.
-Basically no events and no capacity to do much Mexico crushed me and took half my provinces a short while after I played.
Prob because of your ahistorically early release.

I think it's supposed to represent Sonoma, the capital for the Bear Flag Revolt.

As mentioned, it's based on assumption for this ahistoric circumstance. It's plausible given the correct assumption, at least.

But thats just it I dont think its based of the Historical Californian Republic. That Event always fires. I Forgot exactly what it said but it made no mention of white settlers revolting. It had to do with a Mexican fighting against the centralist policies of the governor. You had a choice to make him governor, crush the revolt (Leads to independence and war) , or make it a satellite state.
