I am Lithuania, Poland is my ally, they attack the Teutonic Order with whom I have a truce with and invite me. -25 prestige and breaking an alliance ws. -5 stab, + 10 AE and WE, what? And it is not that Poland is going to be grounded by the Order and they are in desperate need of help, they are stronger, why they even need to invite me in the war? I have 300+ hours played in EU4 and I don't remember this happening once. Is that some known bug of a new patch?

I had the same thing happen in my Teutonic Order game. I was allied with the Netherlands, and I had a truce with several German minors after crushing their little coalition. 3 years into a 5 year truce, the Netherlands up and declares war on one of the minor nations and invites me along for the ride (-3 stab or -25 prestige and loss of alliance are my choices).

I found a bug which allows you not to choose. When a war like this pops up (or when one of your allies declares war on the other), you can save the game without choosing. Then exit out and load from the saved game. When you start again, the war will be ongoing, but the invitation will not be there any more (and neither will it autodecline). It is like a get out of war free card!

Oh, this bug is working? All the time I've been thinking the devs fixed it, along with good ol' saveloading after an event like "comet sighted" pops up. I'll definitely use it, thanks!

Yes, it happened to me too. I think it was introduced in 1.5.

you can do it to them too, in order to get a CB against them and break the alliance. MAYBE they changed the behavior so that it acted more like a human and would be an asshole. but maybe it's a bug. either way, this happens often to me now since 1.5. i am also getting requests to be allied even if i am already at the max diplo relations

This has happened to me a lot as well. I was playing a daimyo in Japan, gathering up allies since that seems to be the only way to overthrow the Ashikaga shogunate now that it's harder to expand fast enough to not get annexed. It was very frustrating to have 3~4 allies constantly calling you into wars which give you negative stability. Allies are useless and finicky enough as it is, having them actively troll me is quite irksome!
