There's a feature in EU4 that's missing in Stellaris where you can make a separate peace deal with the enemy. This would be very useful when dealing with Fallen Empires, as sometimes your allies incur their wrath and drag you into a pointless war with a superior enemy all because the AI doesn't understand that it can't colonize every Gaia world it sees.
