Even for a non-expander you often end up with a bloated outliner by mid/end-game. Even 10 planets can be infuriating to look through, and bless you if you end up with 20 or 30. Probably even worse now for a galactic conqueror.

The only tool you have is closing entire sectors, which is often useless. Either they're large sectors with at least 1 planet you still need to micro, or they are so small that minimizing them doesn't do much in the first place.

Another problem I often have is fleets... Unlike games like EU4 and HoI4, fleets are harder to deal with from map, meaning the outliner is usually where I select them. Much more annoying to do when you have 4 trade fleets you barely ever want to see there taking up space.

Lastly starbases, you know the problem. Who'd want to see 20 finished anchorages and trade hubs taking up space?

So what do I propose? A button or hotkey to hide specific planets/fleets/starbases from the outliner. They would disappear from it, and would remain invisible until you turned on "see hidden features" button underneath it. A player could do it whenever they want. Anchorage star fortress? You never have to deal with it again.

As the op said. It would would be a great quality of life feature.
Even so as planets seem to reorganize them self as soon as you colonize something and are not in any consivable order (ABC?) ...

I believe they're in order of distance to the capital (including shortcuts like gateways and wormholes).

It's a nonsensical ordering system and I'd appreciate simply the ability to drag and drop reorder them. Personally this is something that would reduce headaches so much and actually keep a track of what I was doing on each planet.

That would be great as well.

Search 'Tiny Outliner' on steam workshop
Looked it up. It does not change the way planets are displayed. It only makes (other elements) smaller.
There is a tiny planets mod too but it is also not modifying the disposition, order and/or hiddebality of the planets display, which i guess is not moddable.

as far as I know you can deactivate planets and fleets in outliner, completely, but that's not what you are after, right ?

But, I agree, I would like to have a flag on an item like a planet, fleet etc: "Hide in outliner". The need to sort, drag around or FILTER the outliner for Items that are relevant to me in a situation is very high. If Terraforming could be done from the Expansion Planner, that would also be a proper help, as well as building districts or planetary buildings. Just drop open a planet view when you click on a planet...
