A way to make trade micro less painful:

Allow the player to set imports of goods that are not currently on the market and set more imports than are are currently allowed in province.

The province should remember which imports were set this way as desired imports.

As soon as the desired goods become available or the province gets a new import route the trade will automatically be set up.

When an existing trade route is broken the province remembers it as a desired import and sets up trade again if it is available.

If they do this I will download the game again and keep playing indefinitely...

There is no doubt that Arheo and the devs are aware of the usability concerns around the trade system. And with 2.0 having an outspoken UX focus, i wonder what they will do with it...

on the other hand, they may be looking to do a deep cutting rework to trade at a later point - and thus be less ambitious with trade UX for now than with other mechanics.

either way, if it passed you by, here is my suggestion for quick-auto-trade from early september. At this point im not sure if we should expect something more or something less than this for 2.0, but surely trade UX will change in some way.

Your words in Arheos ears :D I'm hoping for a trade rework soon after 2.0 as one of the next bigger changes, maybe in combination with some economy tweaks and an enhanced economy system (the economy tab is currently lacking content^^). Maybe rework is not the completely fitting word, because the current trade system is a solid foundation, but it needs to be more comfortable after you have to manage more and more trade routes with trade routes being repeatedly cancelled and same goes with trade goods and from which province you want to export them or not. Also some additional content or enhancements to the trade system would be very nice.
