Specificaly allow a commander to be changed in battle.

and allow a division to be pulled out of the battle with ease. so it easy to determine which unit you want out have that unit retreat. This allows you to remove a beat up unit from the front and send in a fresh unit something that was done during the time period. Note that this is still strategic level choices here not tactical. So I'm not asking for tactical control just dont eliminate my strategic choices once the battle comences.

This also needs the possibility to scroll through the units at the battlescreen

Yes, it would be really nice to choose who is commanding your troops. In some major battles I would have several commanders, but only get traits from one of them.

Can't argue with what's being said here. Particularly the part about making it easier to pick a weakened unit out of the battle line so as to withdraw it.

AFAIK you get the traits for all commanders applied to their group in battle.
Only one is shown in the pic above, but with 1.06 you can see the tooltips for each unit and the trait bonus.

The battleview must be made better, so you can scroll down and call in air support (and chose day or night) from bases within range. Also you should be able to call in artillery support if you have enough batteries attached.

This is already in. After all the units with artillery have higher stats.

Yes allright. Well, perhaps HOI1 makes them do more damage 'cause of high soft attack value, but I can't really see the impact they have in combat, so I usually never build them, instead I use sheer numbers. To call in arty support should not be neccessary since that goes automatically.

In HOI2 I think arty brigades should give a bonus to the whole battle. e.g. if the units involved got arty brigade, they will give some % each to offense or defense, applied as normal modifier to the whole battle. Or is it implemented that way already, transparently?

The effect of atached artillery is implemented already by giving units with attached arty higher stats, both for soft and hard attack.

*ALL*divisions have artillery. Just some have more of it, thus the attached brigade.

Victoria actually had that very thing. A division with artillery brigades resulted in increased shock and fire combat values plus they increased the overal combat value of the stack by a few percent. Representing the ability of artillery to support the whole battlefeild not just its assigned unit. I would imagine that this will be included in HOI2.
