Hi!
I m fairly new to hoi 3 and after a few runs and several timelapses watched i really have to find a run where uk , usa or allies in general do proactively something to hinder Germany. I mean it s always between Ger and Soviets. This made some strategies with certain countries useless, do you think this will be addressed in Hoi 4?

I hope so. The problem in previous hoi games (same thing happaned in hoi2 and presumably hoi1, which i never played) was related to naval invasion AI being not very aggressive and overall incompetent rather than it being just "Allies" AI. Just so happens that all major allies except france don't have a direct land route to europe.
But the same can be said about Japan in the game. It could fight china only because japan already started with a ground connection with them. But even after defeating china I have never seen any game in which Japan AI would do anything meaningful later.
Naval and naval invasion AIs was just not very good. PDX mentioned they will work on that and incorporate naval invasion as part of battle plans, so it would work together with regular ground offensives. I don't think we've seen how it worked out yet, but at least there is hope it might finally work correct.
Poor naval/invasion ai was my major problem with previous games... in particular the AI USA was never a threat it was supposed to be and playing as pretty much any non minor country you could completely ignore them. that was a killer for me...

Yeah basically if you are not proactively using an allies nation the war it's only between Sov and Germany... a bit disappointing..
There is/was any word about this by Paradox in the past? i think it would be really reassuring to know something :D

Yes the main problem for the allies is that whilst strong if directed by a player the AI doesn't co-ordinate very well, a problem exacerbated by the fact that they are geographically dispersed. In the case of the axis it doesn't have as great an effect as they all share a land border. I hope that in HOI4 the AI controlling faction leaders is beefed up and directed to control/co-ordinate other members, sort of making a faction act like one nation. I think that would go a long way to helping the allies punch harder.

Yep, i really have to see a hoi 3 timelapse where allies to something , i mean it s not something small we're missing , it s like one of the most important factors in ww2. Since i know i wont play a lot usa or uk i would really like to have someone at least distracting Germany while i attack them in other fronts
