Allied troops won´t help?

I´m the US, invading Germany for four months now. Across the sea the British and French just sit and do nothing, instead of come to my assistance. This is common I have found - allied troop don´t help you.
Why is this? Is there any way to fix it, without assuming military control of my allies?

Sounds like a plan to me. You can always release them after you bring over some of there forces.

You might also load game as your allies and assign some of their forces to you as expeditionary. Try that and then move those troops to the battle area and once you have them there release them back. Perhaps that might joggle their AI to start doing something.

Too bad they deny my reqeust as The Netherlands, and I have somewhat the same problem.
US has spain and has the troops to move further, but they don't use them. They just keep a few troops on the border and most in a coastal province which makes no sense at all.
Most of germany troops are in the middle east, so its quite easy to take them now ><
