I first fight Austria as war leader with France and Poland as allied. We bit Austria got Trento and Gorz, forced Tirol and Luxemburg free. My AE was already quite high.
The France started a second war as war leader and I was helping. I occupied 3 regions of Austria, Genoa and one of my vassal got Siena.
What happened is that France peace with Austria forcing Austria to give TO ME, 5 provinces!!!Result Austria was no challenge for France any more, France got lot of Prestige, I accrued 123!!! AE point and a huge coalition immediately formed against me.
The system did not ask me whether I want to accept this “kind” gift from France. It is absurd that the war leader can force an allied to accept the new region and the AE are paid by the unwillingly receiver.
Either I could refuse or the AE should go to who made the pace deal.

In 1.8 youc can simply tansfer occupied territory to another ally.

But yeah, it's ridiculous nobody ask if you want said province or not. With all respect to their work and great games they make- Paradox seems to like implementing ridiculous or unlogical features. You know, it's paradox ;)

There's a checkbox in one corner of the war status screen, 'War Leader does not make demands for us' or some such. Checking that should make it impossible for France or whoever else to force the enemy to cede territory to you.

I don't think that argument really works since it's a DLC feature. Without AoW, your only real option is to not siege anything you don't want. At least you have that option, though, you can use it against the AI far more maliciously then they would against you.

That was removed in 1.8 (and it didn't stop them from giving you provinces anyway, it just stopped them from giving away your provinces).

As far as I know you can't tick it if you are an ally not fully called in the war. If you know what I mean.

I don't think that argument really works since it's a DLC feature.

My bad, I didn't know it's part of DLC.

Well already giving away other country land in peace deal is rather absurd and unrealistic.
But force some country to accept land he does’t want which in the game dynamic will bring HUGE malus is absurd.
What would be great and more historically accurate is that the allied can set some requests what he expect in exchange of the help in the War Either at the beginning or and more at the end.
Of course the war leader can decide whether to grant the request according to: war score (material possibility), how helpful the allied was, level of relation he wants to keep with allied (well considering how dangerous is disappoint him).

I too found out about this the hard way. My buddy France gave me a few north Europe provinces in a game where I was Austria. Jumped my AE by 100 or so. I cursed, cried and bitched... turned off the game..cooled down and came back and kept playing... was a fun game. However I did learn the valuable lesson to keep an eye on who owned which seige and made sure to transfer any I had no interest in owning in a similar scenario to some other nation that would not give me AE should they be awarded the province.
It is a rather fun way to screw over your ally you are getting tired of if you can catch them in the right scenario.

This feature is almost certainly going to be revised at some point, because of how broken it is--you might find it inconvenient at times, but any competent player will abuse the hell out of this to force AI vassals and allies to take land they don't want. It's made a mockery of the HRE, and the rest of the world isn't much better. Want to break an AI tag? Magnanimously hand them 400% OE in a series of peace treaties, and the AE will be the least of their troubles when they are torn to pieces by rebels.
