I read in the faq that you can place expeditionary forces under control of an ally.

However, can you request battlefield assistance from an allied nation? For example, say you wanted to drop paratroops on Belgium, but you (the US player) have no Paratroopers. Can you request paradrops by the British player using forces not under your command?

Likewise, could you, as the Germans, request help from the Romanians in attacking a specific province, using forces that are under Romanian control?

Unfortunately, no. Though I did post there occasionally many many moons ago.

Thanks for the interest though, pleased to make your acquaintance. :)

how easily you will be able to manipulate foreign armies will probably be based solely on how close the country is to yours, as in history, event(s) will surely lead to Hungary and Romania, not to mention Bulgaria signing on with the Axis a little ways after France falls.
At the start, i am sure you'll get diplomatic rewards based on your aggressive actions, like invading the soviet union, or neutralizing Greece for Italy.. etc.

This dynamic would become incredibly amazing over time, as you could really utilize carefully planned treaties, tipping the balance in your favour. A MUST have item for sure! :)

Yes! That has been what I have been thinking. If someone is doing really well, then people will probably join them more willingly. I don't think Romania would join the Allies or try to remain neutral if Germany had it surrounded. They would more likely join the Axis. Same with Siam (Thailand). When the Japanese got there, Siam allied with Nippon and joined the Axis. So, I think the winning side will have an advantage to getting Neutrals as their allies.

Question:
Will the AI give its units to the player to control them by the player request?
Cause is easy to see as a way of saving an allied country to give them some of your units, but the question is if it will work the other way around..........

I wonder how this would be done? Perhaps the player (or AI) can ask for certain unit(s) and then they go under the control of that nation? I would think that human players would do this to (If this is what you meant by "but the question is if it will work the other way around.......... ") because they would probably want to help their friends, as it could cause their own defeat if an (un)important ally was defeated. (Or maybe not! :D )

Yeah, but will the AI give control of some of its units to an allied player or another AI that is losing in order to save them? :(

I hope that getting the useage of units will be a simple diplomatic effort. If you do too poorly, with that army, you might lose their trust and they wont delegate their army to you anymore?

I understand.. I hope that they do. Maybe it could measure if you were losing or not in some way, and then they would also need to have good relations with you.

I'm not sure how it will work with every nation, but I hear that a human player will be able to extend the time to surrender of both the French and the Italian troops by as much as one whole hour of game time!
