I have a question about alliances:

Is that same system they used in previous games (mostly EUII and HoI)? I mean those diplomatic models are good, but not "excelent" if you know what I mean...

About EUII model:

It's in start, but when you are playing in 18th century things are getting "insane"... I mean is alliance between Savoy and Iroques possible???

About HoI model:

There are only three alliances! Historically correct, but it's "too" historical, bacause you can't do any strategy with little nations...

Perhaps I'm not the only one who has seen this same problem(?)... Something between Hoi model and EUII model could be great. Share your opinions... :)

"Diplomacy
Victoria has a full flexible diplomatic system based on the concepts from EU1/2 and HoI, with bilateral alliances, limited colonial wars, claims over provinces, and much tied in to the concept of national prestige as the strength in diplomatic actions. Victoria also introduces a complex peace resolution system where claims can be given up, as well as trade deals and resources."

Thats as much as is known on alliances that I can find.

Sounds good. Lets hope its good in practice as well.

Non 'major' nations (just as the several Native American tribes, that tribes of inland Africa, etc) should have a flag coded in so to disallowed them to even ask for a military alliance with any other nation, unless that nation is also specialy flaged. Possably make several layers of this flag for different regions (cause if ther was only one type of flag, then you might see a military alliance with the Zulu and Sioux) So, say, if all the Native Americans had a flag type, and all the African tribes have seperate one, then they can only make alliances with those nations.

Something like that...

It would hurt all the ahistorical colonialism that will be going on;) If the Dutch become predominant in South Africa, and hope to get ride of the English presence all together then why shouldn't they be allowed to align with the Zulus in an effort to destroy British in the area? The AI just needs to be made to use common sense, and small nations in Africa and America should only align with other nations if it serves their needs. Example, the Blackfoot and Mexicans might be interesting to see.

Well, of course this can be just "propaganda"... But I trust Paradox!

Exactly!
Too rigid historical restrictions will kill the gameplay!
But it will requier more of the AI !
