Hey guys. I'm kind of confused as to how I can form an alliance with another nation... Right now I'm Sweden, and an alliance with Austria to defend myself against Prussia would be pretty sweet. I'm increasing my relations with Austria, but how do I get them to "Proclaim Guarantee" with me? Thanks!

so far there is no alliance button (probably the first time i didn't see alliance option in paradox game...) the thing you can do is form coalition or proclaim guarantee (toward other nations) I never seen great power proclaim guarantee other great power so I don't think Austria will "proclaim guarantee" Sweden
I have seen it many times. When I was Sweden for example Russia and GB proclaim guaranteed me but we were in a Coalition and when I was Prussia I have seen Russia proclaim guaranteed Austria, Sweden etc. So they can do it, but must of the times the Major Powers is in a Coalition when they proclaim guarantee each other.
I missing a alliance button too, I hope they will patch on in because it is a big thing that the game needs to be even better.
I am playing 1792 mod as Poland. Without alliance it is very hard to win against Russia. Coalition is a goog idea, but that is not enough, especially for minors.
But you can't even form a Coalition of your choosing! Say I'm Sweden and want to form a Coalition against Prussia (even though they aren't land or sea dominant) the game won't let me! Do I just have to join France or GB in the beginning to have any sort of "alliance"?
Yes and that is one of the big problems right now, you can't make alliances in a good way. You can just join or make a Caolition against the land or naval dominant power. I hope they will make a alliance button so the diplomacy will be much better and important.
