For those who don't know this already, the term "alliance peace barriers" refers to the impossibility (through hard coding) to achieve peace between major alliances through the diplomacy system, unless using the "accept all" cheat. Peace between axis, allies, commitern can only be achieved through events (like "bitter peace")
I know that this system was implemented to avoid "give me munich and 30 gold pieces" situations, yet it remains a crude way that limits player options.
A user found a clever workaround, which i tried. Let me tell you that it was the best game of HOI2 i ever had. There is room for exploitation, but generally the built-in diplomacy system works fine. Now I only play this way.
I think that there should be (in a next add-on to HoI2 or in HoI3) an option to turn the barrier off, something like the "democracy can declare war" option in Armageddon).
In general, your diplomacy system works WELL, so why should you obsolute it in such a crude fashion? Let the choice to the player. Diplomacy is a major part of "grand strategy games", and since YOU have ALREADY made a COMPETENT diplomacy system, please let us use it if we choose so.
