I concur that stream of consciousness posting is not a great idea. I suggest that one think it through, edit and reread it a few times before punching the submit button.
When posting there is no tone or body language accompanying the post. The emoticons AKA smillies are a rather poor substitute. Something written in jest can be read as an affront by another. Then out come the flames and let slip the dogs of war.
Furthermore, as we are a multinational group, even more misunderstandings can arise when we all use English to communicate. (Aside from the bits of German and French that I read here and there.)
