King Sigurid of Norway knew he had to break free from paying tribute, and listening to Denmark. Norway did not have a very good status in front of the world even though Norway's economy was going up, and Norway's army had doubled. All of this came from being a vassal, and now Norway was going to break free of Denmark, and become independent. The only problem was that Denamark might not like this, and they might go to war over this. The other problem was that half of the members of the King's court were essentially puppets of Denmark, and they would try to raise a rebellion against Sigurid if Norway wasn't a vassal of Norway. There wasn't much support in Norway for Denmark, but the friends of Denmark that were nobles were often well liked by the people, and they had friends in very high places in Denmark. The leader of the Denmark supporters was Torbald Finnmark. He was the Duke of Trondheim, and the people there liked him a little even if he loved Denmark. Even though many problems would happen if Sigurid broke free from Denmark he knew he had to do to become powerful on the world stage so he wrote this letter.
Norway will not pay you any more tribute this year, nor the next year. Never again shall Norway pay tribute to you. We will not listen to you, and we shall not have our alliance. Norway shall be a free nation.

Harald Talmarsson walked into a pub in Narvik, and bought a pint of Ale for 1 Normark. It was November now, and a small snowstorm was raging outside. If Harald was in Oslo he would have thought it was a large blizzard, but the snowstorms had been happening for 2 weeks now so he was getting used to them. In the past 3 months he had found a girlfriend(OOC: I didn't know what else to call a girlfriend), and even though Harald was not from the greatest family in Norway her parents had liked him, and had agreed that they could be married in Spring. Her name was Helga Alborg, and he had met her at this pub. Now instead of going back to Oslo after his enlistment ended he had decided he would stay here in Narvik. Even though it was winter more settlers had arrived boosting the total population of the city to 800 people. Another church was going to get built in the spring, and things looked good in Narvik. In October most of the army had left leaving Harald, and 50 other soldiers to guard Narvik from the Lapps. The Lapps had stopped attacking the settlers, but they were still raiding a few farms occasionally. After Harald had finished his drink he walked back into the howling snowstorm to get to Helga's house. After ten minutes of trudging through heavy snow he reached the house, and knocked on the door. Helga's father, Tolmar Alborg, opened the door, and let him in. Helga's mother, Erika Alborg, said,"I think Helga is pregnant."
Harald replied excitedly,"I am going to be a father!"
Tolmar, and Erika nodded, and Harald praised God as the Talmarsson line would be extended.

Soon you shall have Narvik into a city and then fortified and the Lapps shouldn't be a problem.

King Sigurid's troubles had grown tremendously after he had stopped paying tributes, and service to Denmark. Denmark at first had threatened to go war, but they realized that if any of the German principalities saw them moving all of their troops off the island they would instantly declare war on them. Relations with Denmark had almost ceased to exist so almost all trading was done with England, Scotland, and Sweeden. Most of the Danish supporting nobles had fled, and only Torbald Finnmark, and his brother, Erik Finnmark the Count of Stavanger, remained. So far they hadn't raised a rebellion, but many problems had happened in the County of Stavanger, and the Duchy of Trondheim. Most of the commerce going out of those areas had stopped, and no communication was coming out of there. The nation was running out of money since this crisis, and some of the close friends of Denmark supporters were grumbling quite a bit. Even though Siguird had put the Garrison, and Town Watch of Oslo on high alert crime had increased rapidly. Things were going downhill way too fast. Then again Norway was free, and Sigurid knew he had done the right thing. A Courier approched him, and said," The Captain of the Garrison has told me that it would be wise if you stayed in the palace for the rest of tonight."
"Why?"
"Because, he says that the some people are rioting, and chanting'long live Torbald Finnmark true king of Norway."
Sigurid looked outside, and saw flames on the market, and peasants beating up some Town Watch, and Garrison Troops. Something bad was happening.

Sorry about the lack of updates lately. There might be one tonight, but this week I have been really busy, and I also have to update my HOI aar so until school I probably won't get to do much with this AAR.
