All achievements complete, do I get to boast just a tiny bit?

After 3 failed attempts landing on the UK, I finally managed to beat the Allies as Portugal, not only getting HK and GZ for my Chinese collaboration govt, but also getting Vietnam and all of India for the Indian collab govt as well.
Vietnam became my staging area for the attack on China, a grueling war ensued alleviated by endless Indian manpower...
(Remember that collaboration India does not have the "Agrarian Society" spirit blocking 69% of their manpower)

After the war was over all of China belonged to my puppet and I finally got the last remaining achievement.

Well, time to take a break until the USSR dlc comes around, or... if I play again I can turn off the Ironman mode.

Well, you have my respect. I doubt I have a dozen achievements. I just get so frustrated with the AI sometimes, that I cannot make myself play Ironman for very long.

I do believe that customers who get 100% of the achievements should get some art DLC for free, or maybe the opening screen for 100% achievers looks different than everyone else's. It would need to be cool though.

Thanks, and yes, failed attempts can feel like a waste of time and are beyond frustrating, when that happens I just quit the game at least for the rest of the day to cool off and try again some other day. It's really satisfying when you complete them though, I think its the cool art in those iron frames.

I support this idea for sure, no bias here I swear...

Be honest, how much fun was this process?

The Macau achievement in specific? Not too bad actually.
Build up Portugal, take Spain asap then rush to sealion, after that its a gradual war vs China from India and Vietnam (similar to how a Germany vs USSR should be), a decent challenge overall.

If you mean all of the LaR achievements... Well, the usual ones like "Second's time the Charm" or "We didn't vote for you" are fine, its a typical game of HoI4 with a set goal and I enjoy that.
Now the spy related achievements... pretty much all of them were a total bore tbh, especially "Our chief weapon is surprise", the only saving grace was that some of them could be done along side the more typical achievements.
"Warszawo, Walcz!" was just stupid and didn't work as intended, and "Don’t Die for Your Country" was so strict you pretty much have to follow a guide.

So it depends on the achievement as I'm sure you figured out, I enjoy having a set of goals in a sandbox game like HoI4, it's a matter of how Paradox makes them.
On a side note I hope Paradox does not make spy achievements ever again.

I have to say, it was quite a bit of fun on PDXcon doing the record there, but playing home getting the achievment with LaR was less fun. For one they introduced some roadblocks to make it harder, but also the most fun comes from the stress of finding a good strategy quickly, while no interesting panel is on, while you have some time to play on the PCs.

Only achievement I'm missing is that one to defeat France+Poland with very few deaths. I never even tried, I'm sure it has to be done with some cheese strategy

@Kazakk Somewhat cheesing, mostly works because the amount of equipment you have as Germany in 1939 and some mechanics.

Your Light Tank divisions won't get pierced by the enemy, which means you get non to extremly low casualtiesbwhen fighting with those. (casualties should only come when fighting an invasion or by enemy air support). Your Fighter force is so big that you overwhelm enemy CAS easily, aslong as you give aircover.

The AI is quite bad in guarding its port. If you collect all your ships in one Taskforce and put them on invasion support, you can overwhelm the ai naval superiorty and invadw Normandy as Germany, there drive south into undefended Paris to capitulate France and get their stockpile.
Then you can use their tanks to outfit your divisions even further.

Then you need to take Poland with chirugical pushes with your Light Tanks, getting the victory points for capitulating them, without ever engaging their army with your infantry.

Finally you need to plan invasion on Corsica, landing with tank divisions beside the port and getting it, hoping that UK didn't reinforce it with their own tank divisions.

You aren't allowed to call in Italy, since they would take Corsica for themselfs instead.

So we got you to blame for that one uh?
Yes, the most fun achievements are the ones that let you formulate a strategy of your own. I will freely admit I didn't have any fun from any of the PDXcon challenge achievements because they mostly demand you to recreate what the winners at PDXcon did, I just followed a guide for each of them...
If Paradox makes more of these I wish the would allow a little bit more lenience...

In any case, good job winning the challenge.
