The first can be very helpful for new players so they know that they can finish off a tree and get a new one. The latter is handy for when we forget to start a new mission tree or delayed it for a bit to finish something else first.

Agreed. I found the omission of this really weird, since there's a popup for when you can finish individual missions in any tree, and also for when you have no active omens/free idea slots/unpicked tra-- Well, pretty much everything else.
