Announcement of a Website of "A Game of Dwarves

competition_only_picture02.png

NEW YORK — September 27, 2012 — Maintaining a thriving settlement in A Game of Dwarves is no simple task, but Paradox Interactive and Zeal Game Studios has finally discovered the right ingredients to keep their digital dwarves delighted. To stay happy, dwarves need food, rest, treasure, adventure, and their very own website, like the one launched today with media and info about A Game of Dwarves.

The dwarf-management strategy title, which is scheduled to launch October 23, can now be visited online at: http://www.agameofdwarves.com/

Besides drinking a dwarf’s weight in beer, the vertically-challenged protagonists of the game are holding a contest in commemoration of their new website. Dwarves need fine, strong names and now players have the chance to have their own made-up name included in A Game of Dwarves. Starting today, dwarf fans out there can submit their entry by visiting the official Facebook page for A Game of Dwarves. Thereafter, Paradox Interactive and Zeal Games will randomly select five names to be included the final version of the game.

To participate in the competition to name your own dwarf, please visit: http://goo.gl/vOyPL

Damnit why the competition on facebook... =(

I will just drop there name here then:
-Gorglim
-Nimlim (variation on the first Dwarven name I used, Inimlim, but decided to remove the I at the start for sound better, was used to be just called "Ini" for short, while online, at the time =p)
-Domarom
-Gorrim
-Markda (if there is female dwarf =p)

Those are all Dwarf name I commonly use everywhere Dwarf are involved. Has for a clan name Deepfury, go back to Inimlim also, for his character class was berserker. =p

I don't do facebook but I sure hope that people are stuffing the ballot box with the name Urist.

They are. Although, I was not.

(Also, I hope the choices are not truly randomly selected, but rather actually picked. Or a list of good names are picked, and picked randomly from this whitelist.)

I don't do Facebook either, that is to say that I WON'T do Facebook. The whole premise that I have to "like" something just to leave a comment or question for the owner bugs the hell out of me (and my wife for that matter). Maybe I just have a question, but I don't "like" the business, person, game etc., why in the world would I want to tell the world that I "like" them when I don't. An example: I found a local dry cleaner that only has a Facebook presence on the web, I wanted to ask them if they could get a suit of mine dry cleaned by Friday, but I had to "Like" the dry cleaner on Facebook even though I don't know the business, and had never dealt with them in the past. It's sheer stupidity the way that it works in my opinion.

Keep in mind that I LIKE what this game is looking like it's becoming but since I won't do Facebook I guess like others, I'll leave a name here in hopes that the developers or publishers take into account the names that people have left in this topic as well. If I did actually use Facebook then I would have no problem giving the game a "Like" but since I don't do Facebook for the reasons explained above, I shall post my name suggestion below.

1. Nir Glittermountain
[Nir to me is pronounced as "near"]
The premise for this name is that the pregnant mother (of soon to be born baby Nir) was coming back from a long jouryney and she didn't make it all the way back to their home in Glittermountain, she only made it "near" to their home so the parents named their child "Nir Glittermountain".

I will only add one instead of the multiple names that I have in my mind at the moment since they only seem to want one from each person.
