Yes, it should be possible. But it would take some planning and a lot of gamey things. An exodus is probably your best bet at this point. Urbino, East Frisia or Riga should be possible early. After that, you could do another exodus somewhere else, just keep moving until you stabilize yourself somewhere, even if you have to go to America, Africa or India.

I'm in the middle of an Albania game right now, and I used the Urbino method for getting out from the Ottomans. Took a few tries, but on my successful attempt I got lucky and Venice took on Cyprus instead of me for their first early war, so I managed to take out Urbino no problem and move on from there. After that it's just your basic Italian OPM HRE playthrough, with an inordinate amount of AE at the start.

I think the key is not having Aragon join against you and not having Venice DoW you right at the beginning. If those stars align then you're good to go.

It' certainly possible.

9)Don't peace Urbino
10) Pass the game untill Ottomans send a peace offer.
11) Annex & core Urbino

I assume you haven't tried this in 1.1x? Because if the Ottoman siege ends before you -own- Urbino and start coring, the game ends immediately. So this won't work.

I'm in the middle of an Albania game right now, and I used the Urbino method for getting out from the Ottomans. Took a few tries, but on my successful attempt I got lucky and Venice took on Cyprus instead of me for their first early war, so I managed to take out Urbino no problem and move on from there. Have you done this in 1.1x?

I have, and Venice didn't kill me... but Rome did. The problem was that the Ottomans want full annexation, so won't peace out for-ev-er, leaving you completely defenseless until Urbino finishes coring. That's a long time to hope Venice, Rome and Firenze will be too busy to notice a smaller unallied neighbor that they HATE. :)

I actually did it, and tried to recreate surviving again, and it's definitely possible, but more difficult. day 1: roll heir +2 generals for siege. If none have siege, restart. If Austria is friendly with Venice, restart. Once you have siege general, day 1 DoW Bosnia and get access from Serbia. march your 2 stack with Skanderbeg towards Donji Kraji alond with your 1 stack with siege general. Walk "past" Donji Kraji to avoid attrition tick with both, have Skanderbeg drop 1 troop, merge with siege guy, leaving Skanderbeg roaming to prevent Bosnia from gathering more troops. Improve relations with Austria, and cancel mil access from Serbia on dec 12. hopefully you have a fort defense guy, if not, no big deal, but may be harder to siege Donji Kraji and Hum. once you have those two, peace out for them and war reparations, and give Ottomans Albania and War Rep, plus ducats. (do not vassalize Bosnia, Hungary or Serbia nearly always declare on them) From there you should be able to royal marry+ ally Austria, and then fabricate on Istria. Attack Venice and with Austria's help, take Istria. From there join HRE and begin anew (I broke alliance with Austria and Allied Poland-Lithuania and France, so when the Ottomans inevitably attacked, I had Austria, France, and Poland on my side. (and this was this Monday)

Honestly I think Albania shouold start the game without war against Ottomans. Very minor inaccuracy and would dramatically increase survivalsbility of Albania without making it easy in any way - now you wouldn't be poor opm in worst place possibls in hopeless war, just poor opm min worst place possible.

Started and still going in 1.11.4. I never had anyone DoW me, and as soon as the war with the Ottomans finally ended I was able to immediately ally Austria, Aragon, Milan and Ferrara. Nobody dared declare war on me after that. From then on you can just pick apart the Pope, Tuscany, and the rest of the little Italian minors.

Honestly I think Albania shouold start the game without war against Ottomans. Very minor inaccuracy and would dramatically increase survivalsbility of Albania without making it easy in any way - now you wouldn't be poor opm in worst place possibls in hopeless war, just poor opm min worst place possible.

But then it wouldn't be as fun of a start as it is. Albania is one of the most fun nations to play as because you have the immediate and desperate struggle for survival. A garbage 1BT OPM with a god-tier leader versus the greatest power in the world. Few things as satisfying as sending that final demand for full annexation to the Ottomans.

I just gave this one another shot, and there IS one potential ally. With a DipRep advisor, Ferrara will ally you, which might be enough to dissuade Venice/Rome from mauling you in Urbino.

My problem was that the Ottomans promptly dropped 10k troops on Urbino by sea the instant they had Albania sieged. :(

Personally, I'm filing this achievement under "far too luck-based, not worth the bother."

Well, my bet is Crimea attacks Genoa> Austria & Genoa defeat Crimea and force to release Theodoro

It survives sometimes, but in most of my games Crimea attacks really fast. Ah, also don't forget the AE you'd cause with a no cb. Now combine that with wrong religion. I believe he would attack before you finished coring...

Theodoro mainly survives because Crimea tends to vassalise them, and for some reason, would never annex them directly. Then it usually gets into a losing war with Golden Horde, and forced to release Theodoro. After a while, Theodoro survives because Muscovy sometimes ally with them, and Crimea becomes a rump state.

True that. Hordes love vassalising states around(looking at you, QQ!) for some reason.

And sometimes the Golden Horde attacks, while Crimea is still at war with Theodoro and it's allies, usually the Byzantines or Georgia, start sieging back Theodoro and other provinces. In one game Theodore vassalized Crimea after the golden horde took a big bite out of it and Crimea was a two province minor. The annexed crimea, Golden horde got Crimean Patriots, flipping to Theodoro, they kicked Genoa's ass out of the Crimea, then turned onto Circassia and the Golden Horde after that. Lithuania got in problems and rebels broke off Kiev and Theodoro DOWed them on day 1 of their independence and ate them. I was playing as Brittany and was enjoying their huge expansion. But they need to get really lucky for I've seen them become a major power only ones in hundreds of campaigns :p

Was going great. Austria turned domineering, broke alliance and attacked. Like a few days before Istria finished coring and I could join the HRE.

You took Istria which borders Austria and being pathetic in the eyes of Austria they turned domineering... but you can join HRE just fine by not taking anything bordering Austria. Like making Dalmatia capital and add it to HRE.

Is this true? I stay out of HRE 99% of the time and I have never joined it. So I can use dalmatia because it borders through a sea zone? Also that guy a few posts earlier said to take Istria but he must have meant dalmatia, because you can't claim istria from bosnian land anyway.

I had best intentions to do it, but was unable - did something like 40 attempts (without counting those in which forgot to scorch my land).
The thing that makes it near to impossible is the new MA mechanic. I can live with the new looting - still was able to stop Bosnia from building troops by moving the 3rd free troop in the provinces where they build them few days before completion.

The new MA mechanic screws up a whole bunch of nations early strategies. I really don't know what they were thinking.
