Hi,

was just playing as UK this afternoon, plain vanilla Doomsday, no mods, no cheats. Then I decided, instead of scuttle the obsolete RN ships, to sell/give them to various minors, in order to annoy the Axis in that way. The main bulk actually went off to the USSR, because they were the only ones to actually buy it, for the others I had to add like 5000 of each ressource to the deal in order to have them accept the deal...nevermind, so everyone was given a little something and Albania got 5 great war CLs. Otherwise this was just a totally normal game. Just gave the ships and forgot about it.

And then when the time has come for Mussolini to play his Roman-Emperor wannabe, I remembered about it and wanted to see what will the Albanians do with the ships. So I typed nofog and saw....THIS

WTF you say? Well that's precisely what I thought too: WTF??! How did the Albanians manage to build 3(!) divisions by 1939 and why did it happen no one knows(well maybe blue emu does). Obviously those Italians there didn't really knew either, since they just kept steaming around with their navy:

Italian aviation taking heavy losses from the heroic AA gun of Tirana:

Albania first to fight(a month since the beginning of the war)

The ultimate battle took place at June 9th, involving 4 whole divisions of the Italian Army against the Albanian militia. Dunno what they didn't use the navy though, there was only 10 ships against them so max. 6 warships, with 5 CLs they could have had a chance.

The frontline is broken, Gen. Komani leads the survivors of his unit in the mountains of Vlorë to organise resistance.

It's Götterdämmerung for Albania, Amiral Delvinë sails with his fleet to fight his last epic battle against the whole Regia Marina backed by its merciless naval bombers hordes.

Then the game crashed, dunno if it was related or not. Anyway the main question would be basically how the hell were Albanians able to build an army?? But otherwise you can just enjoy Albanian's glory and greatness, it's kinda exceptional by itself, I guess. Hope you liked it :)

I don't know, but the same thing happend in a Japan game I was playing. I gave one destroyer to them sometime in 1936 or '37, and somehow by 1939 they had 5 divisions, iirc. I posted a screenshot of it in the Awesome Screenshots thread here.

Just started an Ita game recently and also faced 3 Albanian divs in 39. The GC 36 still starts with -20 MP for Alb, and there's no special event for creating troops as far as I can see (though could still be a radom MP event).

About selling RN ships: the commonwealth allies should take them as well.

Wow that's strange, I thought it had something to do with giving them a ship, in a normal game I never saw Albania building troops, ever.

They do not really need them, they have the RN as well as the USN to protect them. Soviet Union, Norway, and Albania do not.
