It would probably be easier in winter actually. It's mostly marshlands, winter has the advantage of freezing the ground and the tons of mosquitos and other bugs that are a literal pain. Not that marching an army in that territory is a good idea in the first place.Good luck marching an army down the Yukon in the 1940s, especially if it turns to winter.
