Lo all.

This thread is for any developments for the Far east in the AJFIFU. This region covers China, Japan, Korea, Tibet and SE Asia.

I just thought I would post some of the developments I have done so far.

I have added several countries to the start they are:
Champa (CHA) in Tanh Noah and Da Nang
Nan Chao (CRE) in Assam, Shan, Yunan (capital), Guizhou, Mekong, Lao Cai and Wenshan
Upper Chenla (VIE) in Bago, Lampang and Sarakham
Lower Chenla (named Khmer Kingdom) (KHM) in Laos, Cambodia, Khmer, Mekong Delta and Da Lat.

I have added a monarch list for China covering the Tang and Sung dynasties (ids -2126-2150)

I will be adding Annam as a revolter (in 939AD ANN)
I will be creating Mataram and Srivijaya
I should be creating a Karluk revolter (Western Turks, in the Jagatai corridor, who threw out the occupying Chinese in 754AD)
I should be creating Khitans in the Baicheng and Jehol provinces.

Cultures used:
NASKAPI (used to be Black Croatians) = Thai
LITHUANIAN (a double entry) = Khmer
SLOVAK (another double entry) = Vietnamese

possible other states include Pyu Kingdom, Mon, Pagan Kingdom (revolter in c.950AD) and Dvaravati depending on tag availability (still to do India, you see  )

Any comments?

I think the option a in the event 100151 should have conversions of some (maybe 1 or two) provinces. This is what happened IRL, if I understand the description correctly.
This should be a little rewarding also for the human player, otherwise why chose it?

I posted this in another thread, thinking that all of these others had disappeared (and to my surprise, they hadn't), but what about the rebellions that occurred in the late Tang Dynasty? Also, there should be events covering the decline of commerce on the Silk Road due to the closing of Central Asia by Islam, and its growth on sea routes and in Southern/Eastern China at the end of the ninth-century and through to the end of the game. In particular, cities situated on the Yangzhou River should grow dramatically (the Song period is often said to have had the first commercial revolution in the world).

Nice. Well we are all looking forward to the next update for AJFIFU. Until that happens it will stay pretty quiet here ;)

Nevertheless, why don't you make suggestions for those events so we can discuss them here?

On the Roman Empire thread we were also playing with the idea to bring back chinaware as a resource instead of silly wood. Thrace and Antioch would make two nice spots as basically the "end" of the Silk Road. Of course certain provinces in China would then receive chinaware as well (kind of makes sense doesn't it?) ;)
Such a setup where there is a highly valuable resource like chinaware also pronounces the wealth of the nations that possess them, so it would become quite clear on the income table who the great powers are :)

Yes, I'm not quite sure what they were thinking with 'wood'. It'd probably be more useful to rename naval supplies. What else made up ships then, aside from canvas and rigging, after all?

Porcelain might be a better name for Chinaware, and perhaps the cotton good could become silk? Cotton seems to be an utterly unused good, for the most part, and in any case it wasn't grown extensively until its introduction to the Americas. Silk, by contrast, was the dominant trading good in late Tang and throughout the Song.

The events that I suggest (so far) are:

Storm in Yangzhou (751)

A: Aid the city
Population -4000 in Jiangsu
Basic Tax Value -1 in Jiangsu
Treasury -150

B: Leave it be
Population -8000 in Jiangsu.
Basic Tax Value -2 in Jiangsu.
Manpower -2 in Jiangsu.
Revoltrisk +3 for five years

Golden Age of Tang (751)

Innovativeness +1
Centralization +1
Treasury +200
Stability +1

Li Linfu (751)*

ADM -4 for five years
DIP -2 for five years
MIL -3 for five years
Innovativeness -3
Revoltrisk +3 for five years

Yang Guifei (751)*

ADM -3 for five years
DIP -3 for five years
MIL -3 for five years
Revoltrisk +3 for five years

Yang Guozhong (755)

ADM -1 for five years
DIP -1 for five years
MIL -2 for five years

Anshi Rebellion (756)

Revoltrisk +10
Stability -6
Lose 20000 infantry
Lose 10000 cavalry

An Lushan Captures Chang'an (757)

Trigger: Chang'an is taken by rebels

Capital moved to Sichuan
Treasury -300
Stability -3
Revoltrisk +5
Gain 10000 infantry

Execution of Yang Guozhong (757)

A: Execute the traitor!

ADM +1 for five years
DIP +1 for five years
MIL +3 for five years
Revoltrisk -3
Trigger Execution of Yang Guifei

B: Loyalty cannot be punished by death

Stability -1
Lose 10000 Infantry
Revoltrisk +3

Execution of Yang Guifei (757)

Stability +1
Centralization -1
Trigger Two Emperors

B: She is the emperor's favorite!

Stability -1
Revoltrisk +5

Two Emperors (757)

A: Install Suzong!
Tang Suzong is now the emperor
Centralization -1
Stability +1
Revoltrisk -4

B: Install the Jiling Pretender!
Jiling Pretender is now the emperor
Centralization +1
Revoltrisk +10
Stability -3

Death of An Lushan (757)

Revoltrisk -5
Stability +1

*Note that these two figures came into power before the beginning of AJIFIFU, but I am still trying to simulate their effects on the emperor and the empire.

It should be noted that these events mark the permanent weakening of the Tang, so I think that the harsh consequences and constant instability is very fair.
