I've watched and read a bunch about this DLC, and am pretty excited to get going on my first big airport.

I know there's a minimum length for a runway, and I've also seen Biffa's completely bonkers long runway - but is there actually a reason to make a runway longer than the minimum length? As in real life, do bigger planes need longer runways, or does the game not care? Does anybody know?

i'm guessing a longer runway can mean more entry/exit points so more planes maybe.

I'm not sure about that. From what I've seen, there only seems to be two ways on/off a runway, one at each end. It doesn't seem possible to have ways on/off anywhere else.
oh ok, that was just my assumption.

Longer runways for perverse pleasure? Try building a runway that spans the entire length of the map, then force airplanes to taxi all the way back across the map to reach the plane stand. See how long it takes. :p

Planes still do 70mph taxing
Ive only managed to get a double entrance and exit working
Taxiways give hassle to plane AI if you try pass over / cross with taxiway,

But i do think you could double land a single runway, if its more than just the two pairs entrance / exit,
Or maybe land at one end and take off at another
but expect it to look different to how you wanted it, maybe with plane AI issues

TBH, this is the kind of thing I would have hoped to see from this DLC. Without giving any meaning to any of the new assets, it's really just an airport painter, rather than a simulator. I enjoy(ed) painting cities, but I also want what I'm doing to matter.

Easy(?) ways to make it more than a painter:
-Runways need to be longer to bring in bigger planes
-Limit the number of planes using a runway at any time (long runways take longer to use b/c they're longer --> can handle less traffic)
With these two concepts there is suddenly a trade-off, and reasons for building one way or the other.
