So, I apologize if I have merely missed something from all of the WWW videos but the air war looks IMO terrible. The UI for using it seems quite clunky like it doesn't fit with how Paradox has been improving their UI's at all. My suggestions are as follow.

1. Stack the damn air groups, when the airforce is open it looks terrible when you see 4 of the same type of bombers separated into different groups, it needlessly expand the UI and makes it difficult to find what you are looking to transfer/set your airforce to do in the region. I won't deny there are some exceptions to this for example if a player wants to have 100 bombers in total working on ground support and infrastructure bombing instead of having 100 set to doing both missions, they may want 50 doing each of them, this should be made possible with either a shift or ctrl click when choosing the mission which would then let you designate how many bombers you want to take out of the "main" force to do a separate mission (and then it would look like it currently does with 2 different airwings in the region, this should be optional though so as not to clog the interface as much as it is now.

2. Granted we have not played the game and it in fact may be far easier than I have seen (and several others I have talked to about it) to see how the damn airwar is actually going. Yes you can click on the airwing button and see who is winning air superiority, then you have to click yet another button to get the breakdown of the damage done/losses taken. Why not use the airbase icons on the map more, at least have them show fighters and bombers killed vs fighters and bombers lost (similar to the naval battle icons on the map) So a player can quickly decide if the losses they are inflicting on the enemy is worth the damage they are taking.

3. The ability to say you want X amount of planes in a region without having the reserve stockpile to do so. From what I watched it was more along the lines of you can choose out of how many planes you currently have to ship over (losses which are then replaced by your current reserves/stockpile I imagine) but I don't see a reason why you shouldn't be able to say you want 500 fighters in the channel ASAP (high reinforcement priority for the air region) even if you only have 350 currently available. (This is a kind of big assumption but I can't remember any evidence of seeing the ability to say how many you wanted in an area if you didn't have that much in reserve)

These are just a few ideas off the top of my head, and these are merely my opinions (and since it was from just watching some things I take as fact may be wrong and the players just didn't use abilities they have the option to already) Regardless I want to thank Paradox for what is appearing to be a good new entry into the HOI family.

(Disclaimer- not played so could be error)

1. Not really. looked to me that the different groups of same type are at different airfields. This has big gameplay consequences: airfield have soft cap; and the range from airfields is a factor.

2. You are talking clicks. Do you not remember HoI 3 air unit clicks. This is way more streamlined.
I like your idea though:
at least have them show fighters and bombers killed vs fighters and bombers lost (similar to the naval battle icons on the map) So a player can quickly decide if the losses they are inflicting on the enemy is worth the damage they are taking.

3. Sounds good to me.

I had thought about that too but I scrounged around a little bit and at 12:30 of WWW 4 it shows the same air units in the same air fields (with the same unit graphics so assuming they are the same tech level)

Ooo going to look now.

Hmm- just notice the on map icons in Air Mode which are a nice touch.

Ok, I couldn't clearly see what you are saying? 160 and 80 Tactical Bomber from Brandenburg maybe?

Maybe he made two different groups as the game went on???

When assigning planes from the reserve pool you cant set how many you would like there to be. You will have to take the pool that you want and create that airwing. Howver, you can then go to the airwing in the airbase and set its reinforcelimit to what you want.
So basically you can create an airwing from the reserve pool of 3 planes. Assign it to an airbase and there set the reinforce limit to 100 or whatever you would like. Later on you can adjust this if planes are needed else where.

If you are in need of planes it will say so on the production line for the particulary planetype.

Sure you could, but why on earth should you need to? Paradox has worked hard to make their UI's better not only visually but functionally. Having to use quite a few more clicks to do the exact same thing seems to be counter intuitive to the advancements they have made. Is there any reason that making an airwing of 3 planes, then having to tell it that in fact you want it to have 100 meaning you had to choose the amount of planes wanted twice better than just saying you want to have 100 planes in this area once? These suggestions aren't really about whether you can or cannot do something in the current game (based off the videos) but rather how to make it smoother.

That is indeed what I was saying, you commented that you thought it was because they were at different airfields, but instead these are the same types of bombers, on the same mission, in the same airfield and what appears to be the same tech level. There is no reason for them to be separate in the visual which just makes the already fairly limited space you have to look at your airforce crowded. yeah I don't know. But there could be logical explanation. Maybe he created two groups or they are not really the same model. Do other shots at the air screen show similar?
