Currently it's too dangerous to operate your own aircraft close to the enemy air spawn point. The fact that airplane instantly spawn means they can easily bounce any enemy airplane that's nearby.

This make it harder for the attacking force to maintain air cover as the defender have a massive advantage in air to air combat. (attacker here meaning they have punch deep near the spawn and vice versa)

Air planes should spawn off the map and have to travel the initial distance. This make it more important to have constant air cover. Right now A2A is more about baiting the enemy to spawning first .

What I like though is that Air is better to use for the loosing player than the one who pushed all the way to the end its kind of a natural balance factor.

But there really is a problem with bombers coming from the edge, dropping their load and immediately disappearing. I think the grey area of the map should be expanded in all directions with planes travelling longer to destination and needing more way to home with longer intercept possibility. That would instantly solve all issues except maybe AA needs a small buff when targeted directly by aircraft.

Wargame series always had a problem with match stalling because attacking become suicidal (sitzkrieg). Giving the loosing player better air spawn would just increase the problem.

(although steel division looks to be the best of the wargame series thus far. They've really taken step to address the problem of previous wargames, including the problem with sitzkrieg)

air's instant reaction time was bad enough in wargame. in Steel Division the air isnt as mean, but the spawns are so close to map edge that if you're pushed up at all their air is essentially unkillable.
