why build 8 bombers when you can build 40 units of infantry instead?

8 bombers take much less manpower. (also: it is hard to imagine 40 marines to successfully beach landing Britain, but 8 marines supported with 8 tac will do it (sometimes))

in AoD is very good option to bomb the airports - disorganise the air-units and also damage the airplanes on the ground
while in IC: be sure, you have proper doctrines researched (also consider day/night attacks - do not let your planes attack in the night, when you have not research night flight)
try use research more_fire_power for bombers
focus more on NAV; 8 NAV will considerably damage a fleet of any size

at the most, what i do is focus on a defensive airforce. pump out interceptors and keep the airspace safe. it is far more cost effective than going all out with an air campaign.
