A new Drop Corps, under Lt. Gen. Clark!

We fear much less from the IJN now. Full steam to Eniwetok!

Why? Because our transport fleet off the coast of Kwajalein spotted a rather large concentration of Japanese forces!

So now we have two Drop Corps on Eniwetok!

Meanwhile, that lousy garrison on Sapporo is being bombed!

And our guy finally arrives!

Hooray!

Let's try for Marcus Island again.

Meanwhile, an entire island chain is finally captured by Ulithi Garrison, through the power of walking!

And Marcus Island is ours. We don't really need it, no VP or anything, but whatev.

As I thought of the landing that I would be making on the morrow, I was both excited and anxious. Yes, I thought of death, but I wasn't afraid. Somehow I couldn't see myself as dead. "Why wasn't there fear?" I wondered. Even though I was nervous, it was with excitement, not fear. Instead there was a thrill. I was headed for great adventure, where I had wanted to be. This was just an adventure. It was "grown up" Cowboys and Indians, it was "grown up" Cops and Robbers. . . .Thoughts of glory were in my mind that night. Now it was my turn to "carry the flag" into battle. It was my turn to be a part of history. To top it all off, I was going into battle with the "Elite of the Elite," the United States Marines. Just prior to falling asleep, I prayed. My prayers were for courage, for my family, and I prayed to stay alive.​

The great uncertainty of all data in war is a peculiar difficulty, because all action must, to a certain extent, be planned in a mere twilight, which in addition not infrequently — like the effect of a fog or moonshine — gives to things exaggerated dimensions and unnatural appearance​

Operation Beige Bigeye, Part I


In this operation, we will basically be preparing for the invasion of Korea. We start off by sending our airfleets on bombing missions covering the regions of Korea.

Just what I was afraid of: A superhuge stack concentrated in one province...

Stop distracting us, Tibet!

And we get a good picture of what the Japanese defenses are on the mainland.

As you can see, South Korea is hardly defended at all.

We do a drop on Jeju. In retrospect we really didn't need three Corps...

There's no resistance, as the scouting had already told us.

Why did we take Jeju? Well, as you can see, the province north of where the uberstack is can now actually be reached by plane. Which means that we now have the reach to envelop that province with a single drop if need be.

We move our Drop Groups over.

We also move those Drop Corps.

I was just about to suggest enveloping that stack...

That is one enormous stack. As long as you are able to encircle them it might work out, but I think this time you will actually see some real resistance form the Japanese. Shall be interesting to see how this invasion of Korea works out.

If you posses the patience - you could actually bomn the stack to oblivion while bypasing it .

Though time limit constraints make that unfeasible

Regarding that stack, where is the Japanese capital now? If it's not in Korea, it might be an idea to go massive convoy bombing if you don't have the landforces to take them out.
