Fight faster next time. If you're playing Germany, you should be able to break the Soviet Union by 1942-44, and then have a couple of years left to take the war over to the Americas.
Last time I played Germany, I did a solo run (no allies), used spies to speed up Anschluss, Munich, and Vienna by several months, and invaded Yugoslavia in the spring of 1939 instead of Poland, to get the UK to declare on me rather than vice versa. Troops on the east and west borders overran Poland and broke through the Maginot Line almost immediately, before they could accrue dug-in bonuses. Letting the UK declare on me, and not invading Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Luxemburg, or the Netherlands (until the latter joined the Allies) kept my threat low enough that the US couldn't join the war on account of its neutrality. Both the UK and SU were out of the war by the end of '42, and I was free to establish a firm foothold in Canada, then declare war on the US at my convenience....and I'm not pushing things nearly as far and fast as some players. If you're taking until 1848, there's room for improvement.
