After 42 days of war, the air losses over Western Germany have been....... high.

I as Germany have lost 911 fighters.
The Allies have lost 1261 fighters and 678 bombers.

That's Battle of Britain losses which was double the timeframe. That's absurdly high. And this is in summer of -39.

Two things need to be done.
1) Reduce the willingness of the AI to just do fighter sweeps, if the AI has only or mostly fighters it should be defensive, not offensive.

2) Reduce the casulties, contrary to popular belief the bigger the air fights are, the lower the ratio of casulties are. Why? Because pilots tend to fly more defensivly in larger fights.
Air casulties need to be lowered by about 60-70%. As it is I'm building 6 fighters every day and loosing over 20.

3) Of all those 678 enemy bombers lost, a total of seven were to AA..... AA is lacking.

Yeah, I had 1000+ fighters lost on both sides when I invaded Poland as Germany... In a campaign that lasted at most a couple months.

I was down to 81 frontline fighters for a while, losing nearly 15 fighters each day for four months.

The AI doing all these attacks lost about the same amount of fightes every day and roughly the same amount of bombers and support planes.

To clarify, I had radar advantage, closer to my airfields, AA guns and a tech-advantage having rushed to the FW-190 and still I lost roughly the same amount of fighters as the AI.

Tech means little it seems, AA means nothing and radar is mariginal, the only thing that counts is numbers.

The ai also lost 1k support during that time so a 2-1 kill ratio for your fighters.

What mission are your fighters doing, test to set them on only interception.

Air losses are massive but everything with airpower is pretty crazy, ground and naval attacks are extremely strong.

Not all of your fighters were shot down by their fighters, bombers can defend themself and shoot down fighters too.

You lost 1748 fighters and shot down 3655 enemy planes (1889+678+1088). This is 2.1 enemy planes shot down for each one of your own lost, and many of them were probably bombers that are more expensive to build then your fighters were...

So I disagree that tech makes no difference. If you had Me109s or worse you would not have been able to get the same results for sure.

The game I finished a few mintues ago. I arrived late to the show in France as Japan. Sent 1k jet fighter I into the northern france air space. immediate saw a few thousand loss combined on both sides....in a single day...the loss rate was so crazy that I have to maintain 40+ factories on just the fighters and even brought in the older fighters to supplement...

The naval bombers are insanely good, I mean holy fucking shit. I had parked my Sovjetska 2ya fleetski in Sicily to provide Naval Supremacy in the mediterranian so that the AI couldn't do naval invasions. They needed repairs though, so they had to stay in port for a month or two. Then suddenly, they were all gone,

40 Destroyers
5 Battleships
3 Super Heavy Battleships

Destroyed by 400 naval bombers.

Well In maybe 5 days my 2k close air support have cause 5k casulties to the Polish army and destroyed pretty much all their org and in the same time both sides have taken 200 aircrafts losses and meanwhile on the western front 500 allied bombers have been destroyed for a cost of 200 fighters and heavy fighters.

So during 5 days 1k aircrafts have been lost.

I agree, the casualties are ridiculously high. I stockpiled like 2K fighters before the war with the Allies as Germany (after stockpiling too few in my first playthrough) and I quickly lost at least half of that after Poland was done with, with at least 2 production lines (20-30 factories) on producing fighters.

I have done few test runs, because air war is also out of the order for me. Watching all AIs in the world up to 1942, they just kill all of their fighters, and basically you have air forces of the world that consists only of bombers :) Currently it is ridiculous, and this needs to be adjusted so that AI is more conservative with its air force.

Yup, something here might need to be adjusted/tweaked. I've had similar experience with totally insane casualties in the airwar, with my airwings quickly being decimated.

Seems like all the AI builds are bombers and fighters

One thing also, in those test runs, I have also noticed that AI is not upgrading its planes. By 1942. all majors have 1936 airplanes, and not even all types of planes unlocked. USA AI does not even research B-17, GBR AI does not research Spitfire, SOV AI doesn't bother with LAGG-3... So as a player, you can easily outclass the by going for those higher tiers airplanes for example.

Yea i think either the amount you can produce per factory need to be buffed or the losses nerfed. As it stands right now you can never catch up on production.

Yea i think either the amount you can produce per factory need to be buffed or the losses nerfed. As it stands right now you can never catch up on production.

Losses need to be nerfed. Changing how many are produced will just add to the numbers lost, it will not actually effect anything but the actual amount of fighters in the air at times. So instead of having 1000 vs 1000 in the regular game, you might have 1500 vs 1500 and still have insanely high losses. It will not actually change anything, since you are still going to have outrageous air combat results.
