This does not seem to work. My air units refuse to leave their base to intercept in adjacent provinces. They have plenty of range, and the tooltips indicate that the mission is assigned; but they will only fight in their own province.

Oh yes I have this problem.
Rather advanced russian interceptors set up in four provinces along the front line - range is NOT an issue, set on intercept, and yet they don't care a bit when a single bomber drops its eggs in the province next to them, if I don't manually move them.
A PITA.

I've had this problem before too (although in Vanilla).
As Italy, I had no air doctrines researched, so my fighters had a max org of 20.
I've found through tests (with other nations) that fighter stacks will not intercept if the average org is 20 or less (meaning they have to rebuild org after reinforcement), so my fighters could never intercept anything.
I suspect this sort of thing has happened here.

Interesting can someone do some research on the forums and see if this is an HoI.exe file issue as I am heavily working on HoI 2 still.
