I don't get it! The vanilla game and 92.1 has shown in the table below the autopromote ratios:

air_marshal vanilla -- 0.0200 92.1 -- 0.1510
air_general vanilla -- 0.0910 92.1 -- 0.0910
air_lt_general vanilla -- 0.1100 92.1 -- 0.0410

This means that with autopromote turned on in 92.1 for every 100 air groups you will have roughly 15 air marshals, 9 air generals, 4 air lt generals, and 72 air major generals. Is this WAD (works as designed) or just an error? I could go with 4/9/15/72 but 15/9/4/72 makes no sense to me.

What do I not understand? If I have read this wrong -- then I am sorry to have been a bother.

For those who do not know what I am talking about, go to the scenario file for any country and see.

Have you been playing the mod? Air FM has command limit of 5 and air general 3 so those high-ranking leaders are definitely needed. Command limits have been vastly changed from vanilla game.

I have been playing the game -- it is just that the command structure is now top heavy. There should be more major generals than lt generals, more lt generals than generals, and more generals than air marshals to be totally realistic. Agree?

Ok, my question was just to be sure. And yes, thinking that way you're absolutely right that there should be much more lower-ranking generals than higher-ranking ones. But the game system is not very flexible on that issue and those high-ranking officers in greater numbers are needed.

The main problem that I have seen with the inverse command ratio is that the USA gets clogged with 1 lt general (that level 1 old guard Foulis) assigned to an air group. You then have to release him from duty for a couple of days to get promoted and then others will also get promoted. It is like he is clogging up the funnel otherwise. I changed the lt and air general ratios to equal the air marshal and the funnel then starts to flow freely (not a recomendation, just an observation).

Off topic remark -- game seems a lot better than before otherwise. I have been playing war games since 1960 with Tactics II and this is the best so far with this mod. Good job!
