I do not believe that the concept of a separate air ASW statistic exists in the game, nor do I think it should during this time period. Planes almost exclusively attacked subs on the surface during WWII. In game they have one naval attack number used against convoys, warships and subs alike. This number can be improved by the variant system. It also means that once you get to NAV II those will be much better at killing subs than any older model planes.

Ships require a separate stat for ASW else BBs would be the ultimate sub killer.

I have sunk or damaged many subs with planes in this game. Unfortunately, like any other air action against ships in HOI4 the results tend to be gradual instead of dramatic.

I've had quite a few subs (enemies and my own) sunk by NAVs - it definitely happens. However, there's no mechanic for the transition between air being marginally effective at killing subs (or a mechanic for air suppressing subs - which was their main role in ASW during the period) up until the middle of '42 or so, and then becoming very lethal sub-killers after that.

I do not believe that the concept of a separate air ASW statistic exists in the game, nor do I think it should during this time period. Planes almost exclusively attacked subs on the surface during WWII. In game they have one naval attack number used against convoys, warships and subs alike. After '43, aircraft had the Mk 24 (US designation) /Fido (UK designation) homing torpedo, which proved to be a very effective weapon against recently-submerged subs. The introduction of airborne radar and the leigh light were also important changes that were particularly anti-sub (although could also be used against surface ships). I'd argue (ie, just my 2 cents) that air vs sub (even surfaced) ASW was a strategically significant difference in air vs naval warfare to warrant some mechanical attention, although it'd be far from a priority.
