Two suggestions for AI-controlled countries
(1) Do NOT call on allies to wage war on a breakaway province. Two things can happen, neither of which are good:
(a) The allies can dishonor the alliance.
(b) The allies can honor the alliance and the one closest to the province the country is trying to recapture can grab it for itself.
(2) Do NOT pile armies onto sieges. The AI seems to pile as many men as possible onto sieges, which is quite nice if you are the defender, the province supply is low, and it is winter.
On the other hand, I have had my own armies largely-destroyed by "helpful" AI-controlled armies that pile on.
The computer SHOULD be able to figure out how many men are needed to maintain the siege and add only enough to keep the besiegers at that level. In fact, a really smart AI would pull men off a siege in winter, leaving only enough to cover the fortress, and put the additional men back when attrition losses aren't as high.
