Welll, we all know human can't change tolerance towards some religion. But ai can. If, for example in multiplayer, ai changes tolerance towards pagans to 0, and you then take over the country, you will have nice +11 revoltriks in any pagan nation you annex...

Orthodox Russia, Huron provinces. AI changes it's tolerance on the 1st of next month.

In fact, that 'bug' was present in EU I also. I had similar situation as reformed Sweden with Incas provinces, MP also.

This was discussed here recently, and is not peculiar to MP. It is a side-effect of taking over an AI country, and I really can't see what can be done about it. Does this really happen that often, players taking over AI countries?

I say either give the player access to the sliders or give the AI the same slider restrictions that the human player gets.

A common reason people play former AI countries is they want to play a freed vassal or revolter early on (as I plan to do my next GC). You can't do that without going through the changing country step, unless you want to code it so that a player can select a revolter as a playable country, even though it's not in the starting list, and having the game automatically release the vassal as the game initializes.

Well, it happens always. At least, if you allow ai to be in control of country when 31st turns into 1st of next month.

Maybe something that makes tolerance reset after it's choosen by human? Like when religion changes?

EDIT/ Sorry, you asked how often players take control of ai countries. I personally prefer games when everyone always controls their country. But it's not always the case, especially with large games. And when someone drops, there will be at least 4 seconds (pause delay in MP). Though, AFAIK, dropped player countries don't have activated ai, they are just "dead-in-space"

So, the problem is when someone can't play on some day or something. Well, there is still savegame editing, so it's not that major bug...

I think I can confidently say neither of these will occur, each is too fundamental a change to the game.

I see. The original poster's motive is a little different, it is to do with multi-session MP games when one player can't turn up one day but does the next. In any case it's worth a query in the back rooms.

At the moment it looks like there is nothing that can be done about this; the only solution is to edit the values in the save file as you think they should be. Sorry.
