Playing as Poland, 1066 campaign, v1.01.

I was methodically conquering all of the non catholic provinces to my north, and in the case in question, was beseiging an enemy province with 900 or so men. I had previously invaded, and fought off enemy troops. Out of nowhere, when the seige was about 90% complete, Icelandic (from memory) troops landed in the same province. Thinking that this was odd, I checked it out, and discovered that Iceland was also at war with the province in question.

The really odd thing was that when the seige finally ended, Iceland got the province, and not me. Which was odd, cos they were only there for the last 10% of the seige, and had all of about 80 men present to my 900 odd.

I also had another incident where a province that I conquered somehow became neutral again not long afterwards (I am not sure just how, so I can't really post any details of this one - i only noticed a few weeks/months later). What was really odd though was that the next province that I conquered also went to that same now independant province, despite my troops being the only ones to take part in the battle and seige. That I think had something to do with my troops having been the ones to conquer the province that went back to being neutral somehow.

All of this was done with troops from my own provinces only - aka no troops from my vassals.

Iceland is a Republic, i.e. a Kingdom. Their troop commander was probably their "King". As in EU2, the siege go to the higher title present in the armies besieging. The AI just stole you a siege :D

This is WAD.

Doesn't matter if it's WAD, it should be balanced with fun. I've had my own conquest stolen at the last minute by by own leige while I did most of the fighting. Why can't they simply change it to where the first army on the sceen is the one who takes the province after it's conquered unless that army is wiped out, then the army that got there second would take over, etc, etc...

Or better yet, if your leige tries to come in then have a pop-up asking you if you want to except help from him. If no, then he returns home, if yes then you pay a lump sum of gold or something, but you get control after it's over. And if it's an altogether different Lord who just happens to be at war with the same guy you are have it do a pop-up with 2 choices saying except help and pay him some gold or refuse except in this case if he really want's the province he can help you with the seige and after it's over turn around and fight you for control.

Ancient Warrior, you may not like it, but this is WAD, so it's not a bug.

You may do as many requests for changes as you want in the General Discussion forum, but the Bug forum is just to report bug. I.e. things which are not working properly, not things which are not properly fun. ;)

Personnaly, I like the way it is, because it's consistent with other Paradox games (like EU2). So you see, it's a matter of taste. :D

I am happy for you to continue this discussion, but please again, in the General forum, not here. :)

Thanks,

Cat

Yet another anti-Pole comment, tsk tsk... :p

Poland is also a Kingdom...
