Hello,

I've been trying to shoot for the Voight-Kampff achievement.

I've never done AI Rebellion before, but from what I've read, its supposed to happen within 3 years after denying them the AI Accord.

I did exactly that, though I did grant them normal citizenship rights. From what I've read, that shouldn't impact the crisis.

It's been maybe 30-40 years now and I still haven't received any new events that could be related to the AI rebellion. Any help?

Edit: If needed, I'm not above editing or checking my save file since I've already invested a lot of time on this, so pointers on what/where to look for in those ways will be appreciated.

That may have been it. Dropping it to servitude and move away from the subconscious consensus gov't I'm suddenly getting 4 synth-related events in a row. Who woulda thunk running a happiness build keeps people from rebelling! :confused:

I was just about to start a thread about this. I am in the exact same situation you are - trying to get the AI rebellion achievement but having trouble getting this crisis to occur.

I got a pop-up for the crisis avoidance (I don't have an option for Accord, probably because I am Materialist, but I had the option to Perfect Servitude, which I rejected intentionally to trigger crisis). I kept my AI policy to "Servitude" as well to keep them unhappy, and I occasionally get a random "Rogue Synth" event pop up, but so far I simply haven't seen them start a rebellion or anything like that.

If anyone had success getting this crisis to occur, it would be great if you can share some knowledge on how to make it occur.

P.S. - How unhappy do the Synths have to be? Does their happiness meter need to be in the red? The problem in my game is that there's a Fanatic Spiritualist empire that seems nice to them, so they just keep moving there whenever they are unhappy. Would preventing pop migration help?

Okay, shortly after I made this post, the rebellion finally triggered (I intentionally made my Synths very unhappy, but I don't think that's what did it, because another empire was actually the trigger).

Unfortunately, the event turned out.... rather underwhelming. By this time in my game, the year is 2460. I control half of the galaxy and have a 420K doomstack of a fleet with 140 battleships and 100 cruisers. Even my pitiful protectorates each have around 15K of fleet power.

Originally I left the AI empire alone, hoping it would build up a bit and attack its original overlord (an empire whom I don't particularly like). Unfortunately, due to endgame crisis now automatically open all borders, my protectorates decided to come in and mop up the AI empire without me (and they did it easily without my help). I rolled my eyes, went in with my 12x Gene Warriors, took over the homeworld without any casualty, and... that's it I guess?

Do I just now wait for the infiltration events to occur? Or will it not occur now because I already occupied the AI homeworld? :(

Same problem here. Sector AI is even enslaving all of the synths (my empire is xenophobic), and it's been 30 years since the 4th rogue synth event. No Unbidden or Prethoryn, but there is an awakened xenophobic fallen empire that conquered half the galaxy. The xenophile fallen empire has been sitting around doing nothing for 90 years, so I don't think the war in heaven will start.

To my knowledge, AI Rebellion has been broken since the game launched- some say they've gotten it to work but I've had no luck getting it to automatically trigger- and every time I manually punch in the event code into console, the AI spawns in braindead- literally sitting around their first target world forever and doing nothing about any of their installations being attacked or building anything.

Someone at Pdox needs to take a long hard look at this and the Unbidden, seeing as 2/3 of the End Game Crisis are now broken and not working.

I got it right before chrismas. Played as materialist, researced the techs, kept laws as servitude and denied them rights.

Oh yeah, they were also enslaved and miserable.

Had the prethoryn a few days before that.

So they work. Maybe the unbidden are a bit to prevalent, but nothing is broken.

I would not mind more crisis actually

I gave in and edited my save and managed to force the event to happen since I'm too busy with RL stuff to be sinking 40+ hrs at a time for an event that may or may not fire. Here's the code I added around the section for delayed_events for those who are not averse to editing their IM save.

days=1 will force it to happen as soon as you unpause.

Note: Unlike other crises this one actually matters a lot whom the event triggers for. change both id=0 to the country id you want the event to trigger for. In my experiments, however, it is buggy if you force it to trigger for an empire other than your own (you can't contact them), but it works "normally" if you trigger the uprising for yourself.



Like others have said, the crisis is underwhelming by the time it can fire off, the same way prethoryn swarm is. The robot army is fairly weak and the spawn ratio is so low that you'd have to deliberately make a high robotic planet for their uprising to succeed.

The AI simply does not build robots this way, and few players unless deliberately going for the achievement would build more than a handful of robots on a planet, which is the amount necessary for the robot army to defeat the garrison.

I had to redo the save a couple times to deliberately set it up so the machine consciousness could successfully take up some of my systems. I'm just waiting for the special project to pop up now. Like with Prethoryn swarm, I suspect the achievement event won't fire off if you defeated them too soon.

Some of us have planets with pure thinking machine populations, so this seems to be a disadvantage to those who rely on thinking machines too much. I'm fine with that.

Like with Prethoryn swarm, I suspect the achievement event won't fire off if you defeated them too soon.

Nah, I more or less insta-smacked them down, and the event still fired (many) years later and gave the achievment.
They never held a planet beside their spawn station/planet thingy.

The Swarm needed to be left one planet and periodicly culled a bit, so you are correct on that one.

That's good to know - I am currently waiting for the infiltration event to fire. Does it matter if my empire was tge one that triggered tge crisis or no?

I am sad that I wasn't able to acquire any weapons technology because the AI empire didn't manage to build a single ship... I really think they should change this event so when the AI planet is created, a powerful fleet is generated as well. Right now the AI rebellion is just ridiculously weak when it starts out, unlike the Unbidden and Prethoryn which at least puts up a decent fight.

IIRC the event fires for each empire separately, and it just keeps them out of yours. Could be wrong thou.

There is not really an achievement for stopping the swarm. Its actually for capturing the queen. For her to spawn there needs to be somewhere she CAN spawn :p

1st run - Machine Consciousness was wiped out by vassals and guardians of the galaxy AFE under 30 years, kept the game running while reading for 100 years after that, no event fired. Additionally, Synths no longer rebel/invade once Machine Consciousness is dead, even though there's a complete lack of event pop-up to proclaim their defeat.

2nd run (in progress) - Lots of save edits to ensure the Machine Consciousness survives, they own 1/4 of the galaxy. Nearly 50 years has passed, still no special project event so far.


I'm hoping there's no crisis/event flag issues for my game, which is beyond my save-editing skills/knowledge to decipher.

EDIT: To be clear, I mean I'm not getting ANY kind of infiltration, bombing or whatever events.

According to the wiki, the infiltration events (including the special research project) has a MTTH of 35 years (for each occurrence).

Still, in my game i had assasinations, spaceport bombings, bombings and such every few years.
They might have MTTH of 420, but I belive there is quite a lot of them, so it evens out.

My friends, my work on the AI Rebellion seems to have come to fruition. By bribing, cajoling, extorting, threatening, and forging documents - er, wrong game.

I finally got the crisis event to work properly with some super hax tools to speed up the process and eliminate any save game editing. Like Elothan said, a proper AI rebellion would be showing loads of infiltration events rather frequently which will eventually lead to the special project you need for the achievement.

My guess is if you force crisis.2191 or crisis.2000 to happen alone will mess up the crisis, its probably intertwined with a few other flags and events.

It seems even with all the events firing off normally the Machine consciousness does not appear on your contact list and is not clickable, though, unlike Unbidden and Prethoryn swarm.
