On the other hand, in a biological way a female IS worth more than a male in the long term. As you only need 1 man for hundreds of women for reproduction.

I agree to be that one man.

guys go argue this in off topic. Nobody cares it's been almost 70 years. It's too late to do anything about it.

Judging from the number of replies and repliers..some do care. ;)

There would bemuch time, and little to do. But ah with the proper breeding techniques and a ratio of say, ten females to each male, I would guess that they could then work their way back to the present gross national product within say, twenty years.

I guess I misunderstood you, but my reply was to your earlier quote:

It seemed to me like you didn´t find it a sad thing Japanese died, as in they deserved it because their country "started the war".

Thats the thing with many Americans. I can understand they get annoyed with the unnuanced criticism of the bombings by people who don´t know a thing about the situation or history in general. But sometimes they go to far as in feeling attacked everytime someone dares to say it is a shame people were vaporized in the attacks.

The reason I was upset is because now days it seems like its the "cool" thing to do to down the US. No matter what the situation no matter how hard we do try to make things right. We are not perfect, we are only human, none of us (at least me) think we are any better or any different than the rest of the world. On politics thats a different story, just as you feel we shouldn't influence your governments ideas, I wish my government wasn't influenced by the worlds ideas. But that is IMHO.

Well they did start the war. War by definition is an evil and terrible thing. The old saying all is fair in love and war.

They dastardly suck punched us at Pearl Harbor (Though not all of them agreed that it was a good idea.) My point simply was again, they started a war and we used everything we had at our disposal to end it. I have just had this feeling for a long time that the world thinks we owe it an apology for using the bomb. It is something that I have grown very tired of. But that is besides the point. And no offense was meant Meadhros, perhaps I should have been a bit more tactful.

But to return to the original topic, it is nice to see that the AI does use the bomb, while not wisely. If I recall the HOI2 AI didn't take advantage of it much.

guys go argue this in off topic. Nobody cares it's been almost 70 years. It's too late to do anything about it.

I sincerely doubt the families descendants that were affected by the bombs would agree with you. There are lots of people who care, but yes we have gotten a bit off topic.

I agree to be that one man.

I'm not sure, as much trouble as one can be to handle, can you imagine having the whole lot of them to put up with? Oh my head aches just of the *ahem* possibilities.

EDIT: Combined my last three post into one to save space, didn't think about it before.

No apology, which is silly anyways, just like my country has been more or less forced to apologise several times for shipping slaves to the Americas. It doesn´t help, its meaningless as we´re talking about a completely different time with a different mentality, and its unfair some nations have to grovell to others while there is no innocent nation in the world.

Aknowledging one´s past is something else though, and that is what I miss sometimes under Americans. Accepting the USA still is the only power to have used the weapon doesn´t mean we should neccesarily blame the country for it. It does however mean the USA has less right (IMO) to critisize other nations for possessing or trying to attain nuclear weapons.

Far more soldiers and civilians would've died if the nukes weren't dropped... millions at the least as opposed to 150,000. 150,000 people probably would've died in the first week of an invasion from the massive bombardment the United States would've put on Japan. These nukes were also only double the size of a bunker buster, modern nukes are hundreds of times bigger. A 3MT standard nuke the USA uses in ICBMs is 200 times more powerful than the bomb we dropped on Hiroshima.

Yes, nuclear bombs are terrible things, but they were the lesser of two evils at the time. They saved many times more lives than they took. Personally, i'd rather vaporize instantly than die from suffocation or burn to death from firebombs.

Perhaps this is no longer pertinent to the discussion taking place but what are the effects of using nuclear bombs in Hearts of Iron? Do they affect the other country's IC, kill/hurt opposing armed forces, or both? Do other countries get mad if you use many of them?
